Dear Dude1029 ... There is a lot that the little girl will see in this world. Instead of hidding all the stuff or keeping her inside let her see the world and keep explaining what is right and give her Quran when she grows up. The Quran will answer all of her questions. The important thing is morals and not what you wear outside.
If the cross is meant to mean the christian cross then it is preferable not to wear any such sign. Anything that is just a design to make it look nice is not a trouble.
Making pictures of Muhammed has nothing to do with the jeans, it does not seem to me a logical connection.
About the skull her mother and father can decide best if that's something that makes a little girl cute or not ?? (We dress our littler 3 years old sister in lots of costumes and stuff e.g. spider man (yeah that's funny she's a girl) she also had barbie shirts (which she doesn't like too much) So it's not much of a deal) The skull just make your little one look like a little ganster probably and that is cute to me. She'll probably learn her stuff from people around her and their manners so the skull might not be a factor to worry much about.'
Just make her understand the Quran and that's all that is needed to make her a nice Muslim.

i am a christian. i do not know how it is in Muslim families. i personally think that i would not buy my child something with a skulll on it while she is still so young.
that being said, this is a matter for the parents. not grandmothers, not uncles, no one but mother and father of child. i do not think your mother is wrong in her beliefs but the fact is that she raised her child and now it is your sisters turn to raise hers. your mother may not agree with it but her daughter is grown and she is the mother. nothing more should be said by your mother. i do not think however that you would be out of line for asking your sister not to dress the lil girl in those pants when she is around grandma.
