Hey Cory, ever heard of Groom lake??
Hell, Denvers runway is
Our (the USA's)longest paved runway,a 16,000footer
Jfk's longes runway is 14,572 ft
Our (and the world's) longest runway is Groom Lake (Area 51!)... a real whopper at 27,000ft!
As for the largest commercial runway in the world:
Qamdo Bamda Airport Tibet, China - 18,045 ft (5500 m) Bamda's runway is also the highest in world, with altitude at 14,219 ft (4334 m)
Next is Ulyanovsk-Vostochny International Airport Ulyanovsk, Russia - 16,404 ft (5000 m) which held the record for some time.
Good try on trying to sound like you know what the hell you are talking about!!

Airports vary in size, with smaller or less-developed airports often having only a single runway shorter than 1,000 m (3,300 ft). Larger airports for international flights generally have paved runways 2,000 m (6,600 ft) or longer. Many small airports have dirt, grass, or gravel runways, rather than asphalt or concrete.
In the United States, the minimum dimensions for dry, hard landing fields are defined by the FAR Landing And Takeoff Field Lengths. These include considerations for safety margins during landing and takeoff. Typically, heavier aircraft require longer runways. The longest public-use runway in the world is at Ulyanovsk-Vostochny International Airport, in Ulyanovsk, Russia. It has a length of 5,000 m (16,404ft). At 105 m (344ft), it should also be the world's widest paved runway.

Generally, runways are designed to be used in either direction. This permits flight in a greater variety of wind conditions. A typical runway for large jet operations at a major international airport might be 3km long and 45 to 60 meters wide. A typical runway at a small airport might be 1.5km long and 25m wide.

Dear friend
if u meant to know the length of a runway.....here goes....
Runway dimensions vary from as small as 800 feet (240 m) long and 25 feet (8 m) wide in smaller general aviation airports, to 16,000 feet (4,800 m) long and 250 feet (80 m) wide at large international airports built to accommodate large passenger jets. Runway dimensions are measured in feet in the United States and Canada, and meters are used elsewhere in the world.
so the bottomline is that the length of R/W depends on the type & size of aircraft u intend operating from there...

If you mean "how long are runways", they very depending on the types of aircraft served. The shortest grass runways can serve only small 2-seat aircraft, and the longest paved runways serve the space shuttles.
If you mean "how many kilometers per hour" required on the runway, it depends on whether you're landing or taking off, and it depends (again) on what you're flying.

the longest runway for commercial aviation is just over 12,000 feet long. the longest runway in the world (that i know of) is used for end of mission space shuttle landings at the Kennedy Space Centre in Flordia. that runway is 15,000 feet long by 300 feet wide. also known as the "Shuttle Landing Facility".
