really, it was a result of reading the Bible, which in turn opened my eyes as to the conduct of true christians, after seeing the love amongst them, I realized God is real.

I reached the conclusion that some kind of Creator exists through science.

According to basic laws or science and nature, movers cause reactions. Unless the universe has existed and will exist infinitely in the past and future, the universe needs some kind of, to quote the Catholic scholar Aquinas, an "unmoved mover" to start the chain of events that lead to the creation and development of th universe.

Lets take the atheistic view for a moment. The universe includes a series of causes and effects, but there is no creator of the universe and therefore, all of the causes are effects of another cause prior. The universe is therefore expends through time infinitely in both the past and future. This sounds reasonable at first, but it has one problem.

In the universe there are certain processes that are finite. They have a beginning and an end. The are not reversible. Take for example, the black hole. A star implodes, and then explodes in supernova. What is left afterwards creates such a huge gravitational pull in relation to its size, that it creates a black hole. A black hole cannot change back into the original star from which it came.

If a irreversible finite process were to happen in an infinite universe in terms of time, all of these reactions would have already been finished an infinitely long time ago in the past. We would not be able to witness any irreversible processes today if the universe extended infinitely in both past and future.

Therefore, the universe is in need of some uncaused cause, or, if you will, a creator. Irreversible processes that we see around us cannot be witnessed without the universe being finite in time.


I also reached my conclusion as to what this creator is through the Qur'an. It made sense and the Qur'anic concept of God fits the scientific model I set up earlier, especially in the case that God is not begotten.

I have always believed there was a God, but I was so misinformed and a lost soul for awhile. While I was lost I started to get into wicca and tarot cards. After doing this for some time, my life started to fall apart. Everything that could go wrong went wrong. One day my brother-in-law invited me to a friends house with him, so I agreed to go. To make a long story short, while we were there, this friend of his started to talk about the Bible and how I was on the wrong path, headed for hell. He gave me a Bible. I took it home and after a while I started to read out of it. I got invited to Bible studies and I went. I soon began to realize that they were all right and that what I was doing was destroying me and my family. One day I decided to burn all my cards and wicca books, and follow in the path of Jesus. I am now a born again Christian and my life has changed so much for the better. I finally have the peace I have been searching for my whole life.

I was sitting in Biology class listening to my teacher explain something to do with cells and I realized that even the smallest cell (/whatever...I wasn't a good Bio student) has to be made of something else. I sat up that night trying to think how something could be reduced down to one thing and my mind told me it couldn't, that you'd always find something simpler it could be reduced to. That was one reason I found my belief in God.

The other was that I had a nightmare once that there was no God and no heaven/afterlife. I couldn't accept that once a human being closes his/her eyes for the last time they are gone. Whatever it is that makes us human (soul/whatever) can not simply cease to exist once you close your eyes to the mortal world. Science says that ever action has an equal but opposite reaction. I take that to mean that once I die i am reborn, in some way...be it in heaven or rebirth.

I don't really prescribe to one religion, I dabble all over, but I mostly stay in Christianity. I had thought that I was an atheist from the time I was 8 to now. (I'm 16) My belief in God comes down to the fact that I can't accept that everything in the universe can be explained by science, because to tell the truth, it can't.

So many things changed my mind. I read the bible and understood the odd connections between this world and that book. I mean it said the world was expanding, that the earth was a sphere, and that the Red Sea split (it actually splits on it own). All of these things were discovered after the bible was written. But if you look at the world around us and how perfectly us and the universe are built, a creator is the only logical choice.

Seeing rational, scientific explanations that made God's existence rational, and logical. Diligent research, and study, with an unbiased mind. And ignoring even some religious people, who were misrepresenting what the Bible really says about creation.

Then, experiencing the love of a group of people that would die for me in a heartbeat. But also, they LIVED for me. Which sometimes, is even harder to do. In my case, I think it was much harder. ;^]

Then, seeing everything the Bible ever said, fall right into place.

There are changes for the worse and changes for the better.
It is worse if the change occurs due to pressures from outside.
It is better if the person truly realizes the love and the spiritual guidance of the One True God.

there really was no time that I didnt believe i just pretended not to.. i wanted to write it all off as fantasy .over the years I have had someone watching out for me..pulled me out of the fire when there was no means of escape so many times..then i cursed God for things that was not Gods fault and still God intervened and kept me safe.. many many situtations there was no way out.. No one to turn to and I was too ashamed to ask for help from God..but still the situtation changed and I was helped so that is why yes I do believe and I do wonder sometimes why God helped me.. even after hiding the fact at all that I ever thought that God existed..so anyway this is how i feel..

When I was in a situation beyond the help of humans. I turned and prayed to God. He answered me with a scripture that He was in the situation for me. I just stood still and let God did all and he delivered me from the situation to my full satisfaction. To me God is a very present help in times of trouble. I tasted and found that the Lord is good. I am totally persuaded that God is real.

My friend said she used to be an atheist, but now she's a christian. She's only become a christian when she's about 35. She said: "what if God exist and you'll go to hell for not believing in him. So if I believe in God and even if he's not real, nothing will happen to me. But if I believe in God and He's real, then I won't go to hell." I think she's just afraid of death, and there might be nothing when she die.
