And why when you ask them a question about how they feel personally on an issue, they must always drag out book and verse to quote their opinion?

Because they think they know everything and can't wait to prove it to you.

I am a Christian. I do not pull out bible and verse to quote scripture about an opinion all the time. I also do not put everyone else down as far as religion. I feel we all have our own religion. The Methodist, Baptist, Catholic, Lutheran, Pentecostal is not what gets us into heaven. It's what's in our heart that gets us there.

I'm a christian and they don't bring everyone down it''s just that they want everyone to worship God so quotes help. My mom used to quote and now I'm really proud to be a christian. And not every Christian is a downer they can be fun like me. and you have to be either a christian or a Muslim or another religion.

why must so many atheists, wiccans and agnostics (I am in the latter group) always post questions that abuse, taunt, and belittle christians? Personally, I'd be a lot happier if BOTH groups would just shut the hell up... You're not going to change each other's minds, and all you do is annoy the rest of us.

I think a lot of both problems come from the fact that people aren't willing to listen and respect other's beliefs. You might not agree with their beliefs, but it doesn't make them wrong. Religion is a personal right or wrong. Not a right or wrong anyone else can tell you. And if you listen to what they might have to say you might realize you agree or even better you might learn something.

I, myself, was raise Catholic/Jewish (don't ask)... I now don't believe in any organized religion. I think that my religious beliefs are good enough for me and no group of people can tell me otherwise. I do, however, love to talk with people (in a mature manner) about their views on religion, their beliefs, and how they view certain things in life from their religious belief. You be surprised how many religions are similar in a lot of aspects. I kinda see it as we all have our belief in one thing, but we do it in a different way. Somewhat like mourning. We all do it, but in different ways.

i am a christian and i do my best do NEVER do what you have said. i feel that if you insult a person, you are going against the teachings of jesus. he told us to love our neighbors as ourselves. i disagree with many parts of the bible too! god bless you.
