They have been here twice and I have kindly told them I'm not interested but I think they might come back. I have heard many stories about people answering the door naked and that is not the solution I'm after.

Every true Christian goes from door to door to teach his neighbors about the Bible's good news. It is interesting that only Jehovah's Witnesses are so clearly identified with the preaching work; globally more than 6 million preach publicly each month.
(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you.
(Acts 5:42) Every day in the temple and from house to house they continued without letup teaching and declaring the good news about the Christ, Jesus.
(Acts 20:20) I did not hold back ...from teaching you publicly and from house to house
It's sad when someone who claims to respect the bible actually insults or even advocates attacking a peaceful preacher. Sad but completely expected.
(2 Timothy 4:3-5) For there will be a period of time when they will not put up with the healthful teaching... You, though, keep your senses in all things, suffer evil, do the work of an evangelizer, fully accomplish your ministry.
Incidentally, the typical Jehovah's Witness knocks at hundreds of doors each year. He has already experienced degrading behavior from householders, some of whom: stand there naked, mimic Satanists, proposition lewd acts, brandish weapons, sic dogs, scream profanities, accuse crimes, and call Witnesses anti-American (inside the USA) or pro-American (outside the USA).
Fascists have called Witnesses "communists". Communists have called Witnesses "fascists".
Haven't you ever heard of 'hedging your bets'? Simple risk vs. reward analysis should make anyone very reluctant to abuse these ministers.
(Acts 5:38,39) I say to you, Do not meddle with these men, but let them alone; (because, if this scheme or this work is from men, it will be overthrown; but if it is from God, you will not be able to overthrow them;) otherwise, you may perhaps be found fighters actually against God.”
Jehovah's Witnesses are going to knock on your door unless you specifically and unequivocally tell them that you do not want them knocking, or if they fear for their own safety. Nothing else will really deter them, so you would be going to a lot of effort to accomplish nothing but pleasing Satan.
Really, if someone goes out of their way to disregard Christian preachers and preaching, what is he saying about himself?
(Luke 10:1-17) After these things the Lord designated seventy others and sent them forth by twos... “He that listens to you listens to me too. And he that disregards you disregards me too. Moreover, he that disregards me disregards also him that sent me forth.”

I am an EX JW first of all my family is hardcore in that faith I was 18 when I left, maybe 19... anyway... do you really want to call the kingdom hall every year lol come on I wouldn't want to call them at all...
First of all they bypass signs they will bypass any sign and don't care. I was never an elder and even had to go to do not calls so sometimes they still go and once a year an elder goes even after that or ever so often just in case you moved or changed ect....
anyway sometimes being polite works... other times the jws are asses and just keep coming...
I would say a good thing to tell them is that you were Dis fellowship ed from_____ for being an apostate
fill in the blank with some other town or city.
second two more things that they like is often times other religions... most have no idea about the deeper meaning of other religions and are afraid of getting cault in them or converted them selves
and the history of the jws is something that the watchtower society has been trying to get rid of for some time... do a little research and give them some of there own truth... I know that your society has tried to prophecy the end of the world many times and was wrong and people call it the false profit

I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses, and I will attempt to help you.
First I must make the following statement: Isn't it true, in this world, that no one knows their neighbors in the community well? Wouldn't the world be a better place, if we both tolerated others views, understood them better, and also knew them as PEOPLE, as individuals who have homes, families, concerns, and problems in which everyone could help one another? We are concerned about YOU, want to know you better, and try to learn about other peoples beleifs, so we can be more tolerant of them, as well as offer to teach what the Bible really teaches in a free 19 week home Bible Study.
Onto your question, and what may help.
1) There is nothing legally that can be done to stop us. The police cannot help. See the numerous (nearly 50 court cases) in the Supreme Court. They recognize that we perform a volunteer, unpaid service for the community, and do not restrict, and will not restrict, our work in any way. If the police do interfere, then they'd be taking a HUGE risk, seeing as how we just won the Straton Ohio case a few years back (See the link below) Even the "no soliciting" ended up later, not working because we aren't selling anything.
2) However, if we were just to take the attitude "Hey, we can do what we want because the law says we're not harrasing you", then that'd be pretty dang arrogant. We don't wish to harrass. We merely wish to know our neighbors better (Which in this world is SORELY needed), and to offer the opportunity to teach what the Bible REALLY teaches. So, what next?
3) Please understand where we're coming from. IF we are correct, then there are serious reprocussions. However, if you have truly decided that you do not wish to hear from those following Matthew 28:19,20, and of the message that the Kingdom of Jesus Christ is now ruling, and offering anyone a chance to learn what the Bible really teaches in a 19 week free home Bible study . . . .
The next time we call, ask them to put you on our "DO NOT CALL" list for that territory on the congregations records, that they do keep. Or you can call the local congregation (The number is probably in the phone book) and make this request over the phone.
What happens then? You will then be put on a list to not call when we make regular visits to the community in which you live.
HOWEVER, you will still be contacted once a year, because we don't know when people move, or die, or change their mind. And elder from the congregation will be the one to call on you, to see if that is still your decision, that you can change at any time, or if you still live there. If it is still your decision, you will remain on the DO NOT CALL list for that territory, and your house will be skipped when we regularly work it, many times throughout the year.
Now, we make notes, and DO HONESTLY TRY not to disturb ones that are on that list, and leave it to the elders to contact them once a year. But seriously, sometimes mistakes do happen, we miss the note, and will go to the door when making the regular visits. Please understand, we're only human. Mistakes sometimes happen.
We don't have to go through all of that, but we do this all because we don't wish to upset our neighbors, but still wish to follow the Bible's command to us (Matthew 24:14, Matthew 28:19,20, Acts 1:8) which we must obey. We're there to help, both practically, and spiritually. But remember, the elders wills till call on that address once a year, to see if you still live there, or if you have changed your mind, or would like to ask us a question about something.

Ask her why the Jehovah's Witnesses prophesied the 2nd coming of the Lord Yeshua since before 1914 all the way to 1985? This should stop her from coming ever again. Be Blessed:-)

"Not interested" is a lot different from "don't return". Maybe they thought you were not interested in this subject or that, and so they keep trying to find a subject you are interested in.
They're like a guy who asks a girl out on to dinner and she says "I'm not interested in dinner". A few days later he asks the same girl out to a movie and she says "I'm not interested in a movie". A few more days and he asks the girl to see a play and she says "I'm not interested in a play". At some point the girl just needs to say "Listen, I'm not interested in dating you at all." Anything else is just vague and wishy-washy.
If you easily become nervous, write this on an index card and just read it to the Witnesses when they come:
"Thank you for your visit, but I no longer wish to discuss the bible or religion with Jehovah's Witnesses. Please do not visit my home again." ...and then gently close the door (do not slam).

Asking them to put you on their 'Do Not Call' List is the only official way that will work. Of course, they will come back once a year anyways, just to see if you died or moved. Saying you're not interested or putting up signs does not mean anything to them.
The only other way to get them not to come by is to have a JW apostate living at your house - then they will avoid your house like the plague. :)

The best way to learn what to do to stop them is to contact a synagogue and talk to the Rabbi. Ask him how the ancient Jews got rid of the Christian Jews when they came around to their doors telling them that the beliefs, rituals, and holiday observances that they have followed for hundreds of years was no longer valid? I’m sure they had ways to get rid of the members of cult started by a man that had no formal religious education, and whose follows also had not formal education. Clearly they were brainwashed. Saul of Tarsus, a highly educated individual, proved they were false and that Jews needed to fight their false teachings, with all their strength.
So, just take a lesson from the ancient Jews. What worked for them against the Christian cult should work against the JWs.

How about a sign on the door saying "No visits from the cult of Jehovah's Witnesses"?
They are told to visit every house 3 times in a year. They have been past here about twice. I don't let them in and they usually come when we are busy and can't afford time for a visit when they come.

Politely tell them you are not interested in what they are doing or saying and the suggestion from the professed Jehovah's Witness that posted here is a good one. Call the local Kingdom Hall and tell them to put your address on their list.
And to the JW.....you talk about being neighborly and tolerant of others beliefs and religions, but why do your people continue to try to push your religion/beliefs on those who have stated they are not interested? There are freedom of religion laws in this country granted, but there is also freedom from religion and if someone continually tries to push their religion/beliefs on someone who is not interested then that does amount to harrassment and something should be done about it legally.

Ask them this, Do you read only the Bible? Be wary, they do not. They have a book called the Watch Tower that they live by also. Say, sorry, I follow ONLY the Bible and am not intested in any side books thanks. They will insist this book is necassary and contains some lost doctrines and other such business. Make it clear you read ONLY the Bible. And not the revised edited one that they have published, where they have munipulated Scripture very well I might say. Then politely ask them to leave and let them know that your Bible is the only one you will need from this day forward and then say, I will pray for you. Have a nice day. Wharever you do don't argue. It would be better to just shut the door in there face than argue.
