A couple days ago I was making Mac & Cheese and nearly forget to put the spice stuff on it. I wondered why it wasn't looking orange.

I was trying to help my wife in the kitchen while getting ready for a party-In a effort to save refridgerator space I poured her fruit punch into several long, tall wine bottles that we were saving for a friend who makes wine. Later in the evening she asked me to go get her dessert from the fridge- the fruit punch was in actuality 'JELLO"-

First i was blending something when the blender stopped working. When i opened the lid, it started to work again, drenching me with a half- blended smoothie.

Then i burnt the Grilled Cheese so bad it stunk up the house for three days!

Then i was heating soup in the microwave and it exploded

and my cat got into the refridgerator while i wasn't looking and destroyed the inside of it.

I will never cook again while drunk

I was making meatloaf and needed catsup. There was only a little left in the bottle, so I ran hot water on the bottle to loosen it so it would pour. I didn't realize until I popped the lid off that a vacuum had formed in the bottle. The catsup exploded out of the bottle and all over the kitchen walls and ceiling. It looked like a murder had been commited!

I set my kitchen on fire.

I was making a White Bean and Leek Stew in a Red Wine Sauce. I normally use olive oil to sautee vegetables. I wash the pot and sit it on the fire to dry, then I add the olive oil then the veggies.

This time I used vegetable oil, which has a lower heat tolerance. I didn't think about that. When I turned around after chopping the vegetables there was fire.

You always know what to do when you aren't in that situation. I stood there thinking "Oh ****! What do I do?" Luckily, the flame burned out on it's own.

I remember one time when I was younger my family owned a restaurant. I decided to make cookies. Because we had the restaurant we kept things like flour in big garbage cans for volume reasons. I measured out the amount of flour I needed but didn't sift the flour. After I had baked the cookies I tried one and realized that someone had accidently dropped uncooked rice into the flour. YUCK!!!
I have sifted flour ever since.

I was making meat patties for dinner and the recipe set coat them in flour to fry them off. Once you dust them with flour you need to let them sit for a while.

We weren't paying attention when the flour was removed from the cupboard and as we grabbed the patties out of the fridge, we saw that they had a yellowish tinge to them. We had grabbed the custard powder not the flour.

Had an interesting flavour to them and a lovely yellow hue.

They were still edible, so no harm no foul.

Making a fish jambalaya with salmon, oranges and chilli sauce. Tomato bread, bad idea. Mixing white wine, chilli sauce and lemon juice.

To flavour almost anything, add white vinegar, a bit of sugar, garlic, ginger and cilantro. This is for savoury dishes.

For sweet, try orange peel and cinnamon with brown sugar, vanilla and almond with honey, white sugar, vinegar and lemon peel, etc.

Oh my God, where to begin?? I've left the flour out of cookies, forgot to turn on the oven for prime rib the day before and had to throw out 28 pounds of it, scorched soups and pastas, and the absolute worst...

I forgot the Cornish hens in the oven, turned the oven off, and 5 days later discovered maggots in the stove.

several years ago I was making peanut butter cookies
I was using a recipe someone had written down for me
the recipe clearly said "1/4 cup baking soda"
not doubting the recipe, I put it in
needless to say when the cookies were baked they tasted aweful, like pure baking soda

One time I was baking a cake at my mother's house and I grabbed the wrong canister. I thought it was sugar. . . That was the saltiest cake I ever threw out for the animals. Why does her wildlife like salt licks, but they wouldn't eat my cake?
