both. i find that i need to "awaken my spirit within" in order to reaffirm my faith. i "strive to feed my soul" so i can keep myself from straying away from my god and towards sin. often, i lose that battle, but i repent and come back by "awakening the spirit within me". it is a never ending circle of faith in my god. i am a sinner, but i believe!
p.s. i am a methodist christian.

The answer has to be yes for you have asked a tatology where both sides are one and the same.
The Spirit w/in is life and calls what is good to itself. The soul and the spirit are one.
