it says its a true statement and if someone disagrees should I kill them?
i.e- there is a god, this is a true statement, those who agree are good, those who disagree are evil, the good must punish the evil.
If I want to be good then who should I kill first to help protect the good from the evil?
(Dear fundermentalists this is only a hypothetical question for me, I do not want to sign up, I love humanity-disapprove of flags and bombs and religion.)

A statement based on circular reasoning is not necessarily true. It is not necessarily false either. The proof must be external to the source of the statement. In short the Bible must be proved another way to be valid.

You should look at Herbert Spencer's book on ethics. I think he proves ethics pretty well. Even Ayn Rand, an atheist believes a similar philosophy. The bible was written by eyewitnesses, that is why they called themselves witnesses of God. It's scientific to test everything. Scientists have virtually proved God already, because they are much more rigorous than the general public, who believe what they are told or what is popular. Scientists have only studied rocks until now, because it is much easier. It is also easier to be objective with a rock. They are now studying spirituality and the pendulum is swinging the other way. Isn't that the way it goes. So don't get too heated up, we really know so little. Only the right brain can handle all the data and we don't even use that. It uses picture logic to hold vast amounts of information. If we want to do the same we have to observe the output and proofs it gives. Then test them empirically and you will not believe your ears.

Circular logic doesn't work. Just because it says it's a true statement doesn't make it so.

Killing is a violation of human rights anyways

Hmm, but would you approve of religious bombs wrapped in flags?... I think we both know the answer to that *attempts to convert*. >.>

Anyway, yeah, you've just uncovered the falacy of circular logic, which ultimately is the basis of most ethical systems.

Let's take for example the Bible. Christians believe it is true BECAUSE it says it's true and because so many of them believe it.

That's circular reasoning. Stupid isn't it?

And your question was? If you love God, do not bomb people, or yourself.

It follows that your duty is to blow yourself up in a crowd of infidels.
