Do we ban all guns because people use them to rob and kill? do we ban gas, matches or lighters because they can be used to set illeagl fires? It makes no more sence to ban breeds of dogs because someone uses them for illeagl purposes or breaks the law by letting them run lose.

I agree. If a person is dumb enough to drink and drive or rob some one they should be banned. I have gone to bat for dogs. I would screen prospective owners for my pups. I used to breed White German Shepard's but not do that any more. If a person owns these aggressive breeds of dog their insurance goes up or is dropped. It is unfair to those who have dogs. I can not stand the idea of someone dumping or sending them to the pound so I quit breeding them. I also think if you want a pet get it from an animal shelter. I now have my dogs spayed and neutered.

I totally agree. I don't think we should ban dogs because some people are stupid. Maybe they should start doing background checks when you buy dogs just like they do with guns.
Okay maybe a little extreme, but I would rather have a background check done on me when I buy a dog then know that many dogs were killed just because of their breed.

AGREE AGREE AGREE YOU ARE SSSSSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOOOO RIGHT what needs to be done is ban the people this is where checking out a prospective buyer comes in ALWAYS check vet references and personal references as well. I breed boxers and there is a long list that my buyers have to go through to purchase one of my puppies and yes i do home visits even after the puppies have been sold and i make them sign contracts if more people done this and wasnt just interested in making money then we would have more loveable pets and LESS IGNORANT PEOPLE
