It means your vision is getting worse and not necessarily blind.
How old are you? Have you been checked for cataracts? Have you been told that you are Myopic? Are you on some kind of strong medication? Have you had any retinal testing done?
To just up and give you an answer would be extremely hard with no more information than you have provided but if you know your prescription you should be getting information from your Dr which can tell you more than I can given the little information provided.

I don't know, but it seems that your degree is getting deeper. If you really want to find out further information on it, go to an optometrist. In the time being, try not to introduce stress to your eyes such as to avoid spending too much time on the computer or television. Do not squint your eyes and DON'T ever read in the dark or in a lying down position.

I'm sorry to state the obvious but if what you are looking at is becoming progressively darker or distorted to a point you can no longer recognize what you are looking at then you are probably going blind. However if it is just getting harder to focus on say, newspaper print you probably just need glasses ask your eye doctor to explain the numbers stuff to you. Good Luck

Wow mine dropped drastically too! 2 years ago mine was 1.5, now it's 4.5.
No, ya won't go blind. That's why there's glasses. Sure your eyes might get so blurry you can't see anything but wiggles, but glasses will help.
