Because they lack a personnel realtionship with Christ and are seeking the drink for assurence. The catholic church provides the wine for free to boot.

I didn't know that they were. But it wouldn't surprise me. They are truly one messed up bunch of men.
I have a theory that the reason pedophilia is epidemic (the catholic church uses the word "epidemic" to describe it) among the priests, is that the priesthood is somehow an attractive profession to sexual deviants. It could be that young men who have sexual cravings for children, rather than women, realize that these cravings are taboo, so they choose a path that might allow them to deny their sexuality altogether.
Perhaps it is this sexual repression which also turns these men, more than other people, to alcohol as a kind of escape. Alcohol, of course, is the only acceptable recreational drug in our society.

You need to drink more than that to get drunk, so what's your point ? I don't think there is any statistic that proves that Catholic priests are alcoholic. That would be like asking - why are most evangelical pastors purveyors of porn ?

Actually they are supposed to be drinking grape juice. Its just another thing they misconstrued. Go to gospelofthenazirenes. to get the original New Testament. Before Constantine misconstrued everything. Christ taught Karma and reincarnation and so much more than they know.

Because they live a life without sex, so instead they molest little boys. I've always been suspicious of any Catholic priest. all of them are fricken wierd, period!

I suppose not all, but I bet because it probably relaxes them after hearing all the nasty confessions people must do and to think they cant say anything!!! It must drive them to drink...

Well, also I hear that after communion is finished it is required that they drink up all the leftovers. so this contributes to acquiring a taste for liquor.
