potato works best, it absorbs the salt from the liquid. you may also want to as in a little bit of water as well so that that soup does not become too thick because the potato will also absorb the water.

~~~if you have potatos,,,,peel a couple,,,cut in half,,,let simmer in the beans and rice for about 10 -15 min,,,,, the potatos will absorb the extra salt.
