my 9 yr old loves legos so he is a member of legos.com and knex.com and he plays games there and they have some stories you can read that go with the sets you buy in the store, builds their imagination. Get involved with cub scouts , they have a web page just for the kids and it has games and things on it that go with some of their badge activities.

Set parental controls and preview the web pages you allow him to go to so you know what he is talking about when he describes something he sees online. Sit with him and teach him how to use the functions on the computer so he doesnt accidently mess anything up too, had that happen before. Good luck

www.neopets.com

It's awesome. Seriously I was addicted to this site when I was about 11. If you put your son's real age, it will prevent him from going on the forum or receiving messages from other users.

Things to do:
Make a virtual pet which you can buy things for
Play tons of really fun games
Explore the virtual world of Neopia
Earn virtual money called Neopoints
Paint your pets different colors
Etc...

And you can do all this without talking to other users at all! And it's all very child-friendly. Hey you might even enjoy it to! (I know I still do and I'm now 16)

Firstly, put on all the parental controls you can - with added software, or even at least with your browsers.
Stick to the classics like Disney, Hot Wheels, Star Wars - the ones you know won't be any trouble. Be around him when he's on the computer.
