now that part is done- here's a totally unrelated situation, look at the pic. Here's the info, the twin's head has a fully functioning brain. They each have their own emotions and personality.
http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/msnbc/compon...
If kept together both will die, if seperated the head will die because it just a head and brain, no organs or anything. So here's part 2 of the survey:
1) Is seperating the twins murder?
2) Is this worse than abortion?
3) would you keep them together and let them both die?
4) If you knew your baby was like this before they were born (the mother didn't) would have aborted?
5) Is the head alive?
6) Is the head more of a human/have more of a life than a fetus?
7) did this survey make you have to think about your answer?
8) did you enjoy this survey?
comments? (this was just to see how people compare the two situations and to see what people think about abortion.)
was this survey offensive to anyone? It's been deleted many times before

The baby with the two heads is a tragic instance. The mother had a major decision to make(one I don't relish)but she made the right decision. This is nothing like abortion. The head if born by itself would not have survived at all, so she had to make a sacrifice to save the child who was whole, where as an abortion is done to KILL the child who is whole.

2) is a fetus more "alive" and a baby outside the womb? no
3) When is fetus alive/shouldn't be aborted?(not legally, YOUR opinion) after the first 3 weeks

5) would being flat broke, single, no friends or family will help you out, and aren't done with school- or have to quit your job to be with your kid change your decision to have an abortion? yes
6) what if you had a major dug and alcoholism problem too? Your baby would be addicted when born? i would get an abortion. i would rather spare it the horrid fate than commit it to life it didn't choose.
7) does your religion tell you what to think about abortion? if yes what is it? it does. i am christian

1) is abortion murder? No
2) is a fetus more "alive" and a baby outside the womb? not sure
3) When is fetus alive/shouldn't be aborted?(not legally, YOUR opinion) I think it is the women's choice but it should be in the first trimester
3A) what is your definition of "life" (in terms of a fetus/baby human)? Life is when the first breath of air comes into the body and the soul enters it just before it comes forth from the womb.
4) would ever have an abortion? If need be...
5) would being flat broke, single, no friends or family will help you out, and aren't done with school- or have to quit your job to be with your kid change your decision to have an abortion?Yes
6) what if you had a major dug and alcoholism problem too? Your baby would be addicted when born? I would consider adoption if I couldn't have the abortion
7) does your religion tell you what to think about abortion? if yes what is it? I don't have a religion. I am wiccan and we try to preserve life but in my opinion, it is the woman's choice, she is the one that has to go through the physical and mental change of pregnancy. She is the one that has to go through to pain of child birth. It is her body and soul going into a pregnancy and it should be her choice if she is ready to bare a child.

First, I think it's interesting that you connected the idea of separating conjoined twins and abortion--because I've long thought that our laws should treat mother and child much as we treat conjoined twin. We treat both of them as human beings FIRST--and try to save both of their lives if possible. That just isn't the case with abortion--unless you are talking about cases where the mother's life is endangered by the pregnancy, the comparison breaks down.
1) is abortion murder? No, not always...but in late term abortion I think its manslaughter. Murder assumes you know that you're killing someone...I don't think most mothers know--either that or they are thinking about it more as euthenasia.
2) is a fetus more "alive" and a baby outside the womb? You mean "than" a baby out side the womb. Of course not "more"--age doesn't make you "more alive."
3) When is fetus alive/shouldn't be aborted?(not legally, YOUR opinion). Its human and alive from conception--but when is it a person with a soul? I don't know...and not knowing, I will treat it as human from conception, since this is the earliest possiblity. But around 20 weeks is when pain first may be possible, from what we know, and soon after that thought becomes possible...once even the most basic forms of thought is possible, in my mind there is no doubt that the baby is alive and it is wrong to end it's life (except, as I mentioned before, when it is neccessary to save the life of the mother).
3A) what is your definition of "life" (in terms of a fetus/baby human)? Kinda explained above..
4) would ever have an abortion? No....unless it was a tubal pregnancy, God forbid, or something like that.
5) would being flat broke, single, no friends or family will help you out, and aren't done with school- or have to quit your job to be with your kid change your decision to have an abortion? No. Adoption would be available in that circumstance.
6) what if you had a major dug and alcoholism problem too? Then I would definately put the baby up for adoption...um, and put myself in rahab during the prgnancy. Addiction is not a fatal disease...something could be done for the baby.
7) does your religion tell you what to think about abortion? if yes what is it?
It tells me to treasure life. It doesn't specifically talk about abortion, but I know that there is never a circumstance where I couldn't trust God, including the above circumstances you mentioned.
here's part 2 of the survey:
First, the link didn't work...but just taking conjoined twins in general and what you said, I'm a little confused.
1) Is seperating the twins murder? No...its a tragically hard decision. Murder is done to kill someone. Even if someone shoots another person to kill them, If it is self defense or defense of another person it is not called murder. In this case they are not intentinally killing a child--they are intentionally saving the other child, with the regretable result that the other dies.
2) Is this worse than abortion? No.
3) would you keep them together and let them both die? Probably not, no.
4) If you knew your baby was like this before they were born (the mother didn't) would have aborted? No way.
5) Is the head alive? Yes.
6) Is the head more of a human/have more of a life than a fetus? If the fetus is late term, I don't think so. If early term, I don't know...
7) did this survey make you have to think about your answer? I've thought about all of these things a long time.
8) did you enjoy this survey?
Yes.

2) is a fetus more "alive" and a baby outside the womb? No
3) When is fetus alive/shouldn't be aborted?(not legally, YOUR opinion) At conception
3A) what is your definition of "life" (in terms of a fetus/baby human)? at the conception of sperm and egg
4) would ever have an abortion? no
5) would being flat broke, single, no friends or family will help you out, and aren't done with school- or have to quit your job to be with your kid change your decision to have an abortion? no

7) does your religion tell you what to think about abortion? if yes what is it? I am a Christian. My religion does not tell me what to believe. I believe in life. I believe there is always hope. If we stop the life we snuff out the hope. God's love extends not only to the unborn child but to the woman struggling with such a decision.

I'm sorry, your survey is really too long. However, I'll give your the answer to what seems to be your real questions.
The "foetus" is a baby - a live one - just pre-born.
No, not quite the equivalent of a baby who has been born, in the sense that if the mother is in danger of dying by keeping the baby (real danger - and I'm not sure what could cause that kind of a situation, medically), then I would definitely put the mother's life before the baby's life - whereas an already born baby would not necessarily bring me the the same automatic answer.
I would definitely separate Siamese twins, especially if not separating them would make them both die - even though separating them would surely make one of them die.
It is a monstrous situation, that calls for a very radical solution.
