Your friends dad is just fine. He suffers no more. Don't worry... it all works out ok.

The vast majority of people who commit suicide do so to end their pain, not because they want to die... it's that bad for them. If there is no god, then they are at peace. If there is a god, he will understand their pain and embrace them.

No matter what the people above have said. The answer is yes. According to the bible the individuals who commit suicide will not go to heaven. Yes God is loving many people tend to say well if God is love he wouldn't do this, this, and this, yet forget the simpliest fact that we have free will and have the power to choose our eternal destiny. For those who said there is no hell there is whether you believe it or not. Wouldn't you rather live your life knowing there is a God and finding out there is one at the end of it all than going your whole life saying there is no God nor heaven or hell and find out there is one at the end of your life?!?!?! If you have anymore questions please feel free to e-mail me I would glady answer any questions you may still have.

Everyone goes to the same place when they die -no matter how they died. We aren't judged until later. I think in cases of suicide, God will judge according to the state of the person's mind at the time of suicide, the circumstances, the reasons for the suicide, etc. If someone is depressed or otherwise not in full control or acting "normally", then God knows that and will judge fairly. Suicide is NOT an automatic sentence to punishment.

the answer is not known
the jewish tradition says not
but jewish law and jesus are not the same thing

to a degree where he cam make judgements based upon his compassion and love not just the restrictions of the laws of the old testament

i had a pastor try and comit suicide so i was deep into this queston, people comit suicide from dispair and helplessness as well as payback and passive agressive motivations

we wont know if jesus will save a suicide or not
everyone had a automatic ticket to hell and jesus saved them,,,,,,,,can jesus save a suicide

the bible says nothing is impossible for god

King Saul was a wonderful and Godly man. For a while. Then it looks like he fell victim to mental illness, and in the end, after a valiant battle, he fell upon his own sword...on purpose.

There is no way that poor guy went to hell. I mean, I'm not his judge or anything, but I study the Bible, and am getting to know the character of God.

I know there are some who believe suicide equals hell, but I don't think we can just buy that 100 percent. I feel so bad for your friend. The holidays seem to bring that out in people.

I do not think anybody goes to hell, for the following reasons:

1) An all-loving God cannot condemn his creations to an eternity of suffering, unless he is not all-loving.

2) It seems silly to punish someone infinitely for a finite number of sins.

3) Hell was only introduced in the late 6th century. Plus, the christian faith is full of inaccuracies and blatant contradictions, why should this be any different?

It matters not if you die quickly, or if you die slowly...
It matters not how you die...
There is no road that doesn't take you HOME.
GOD is with you when you are born and when you die...which in all truth if you pay close attention....WE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE...which means we never DIE. EVERY THING IS A CHOICE called FREE WILL. But simply put, your friend's father is God's Beloved and fine. God Loves US unconditionally NO MATTER WHAT. There is no such place as hell. Hell is in your mind. Hell was devised to scare us into religion. GOD wouldn't send us here to condemn us, for what? There is naught but ONE of us. Jesus knew this. Jesus tried telling us, so did Budda, Kirrishna, So did Martin Luther King, so did Shakespear, they were all messengers for GOD... and like Jesus said, "The Father and I are ONE." Why would he hurt the one he loves?" Would You?
Do you love your father so much you could condemn him to eternal Hell? That's craziness. We all go home to GOD.

The mind does not die immediately. Many near death experiences are only the first stages of awareness of the reality beyond flesh and blood existence. This gives plenty of time for people, like your friend's dad to see his mistakes, beg for forgiveness, and be forgiven.

Unfortunately, he will not be able to stop the suffering his suicide caused his family. That has got to feel like Hell. Heaven can not be really changed by what we do here, only saddened by our failures. That's what is meant.

God is truly loving and eager to forgive.

Suicide occurs when extenuating circumstances overrides the brain's ability to cope. It is like a moment of insanity. Personally, I believe that my God is a merciful God, and He understands that when a good person takes his own life, something has gone terribly wrong with that person's mind. I just don't see that as being a forever and ever sentence to Hell.

No, suicide is a faithless act that basically says "God I dont care about what you want for my life, I just want to end it." Praying for the dead is pointless, whats done is done. We are not called to give our lives over to death but to JESUS CHRIST.

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." -Matthew 28:19
