If you believe in a Trinitarian God, then the answer is: "No, God was not lonely before He began His Creational Activity." Since He exists in Three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Where was Mrs. God? The New Testaments tell us: "Pneuma Ho Theos," which means, "God is Spirit." Spirits have no gender. Woman was created to be Man's companion and help mate. Apparently God Himself had no such need. However, I personally am eternally grateful that God in His infinite wisdom was so considerate of His creation.

Happy New Year!

This question is best asked of a Jehovah's Witness or Moslem. Indeed, in the theology where God is single, He would be lonely, huh? However, the God who is true exists as three distinct persons--only this way could God be love from eternity to eternity and never change. To love, by definition, requires another to be loved.
The creation, therefore, was God simply deciding to share His (their?) love with even more beings.
However . . .
To love requires (by definition) the choice to love. That naturally includes the choice to not love, even to hate, ignore, and disobey. Thus we have the answer to all those crocky "how could a God of love permit ____________?" He must, if He really loves us.

A sincere question, Frank. Genesis 1:1 states that God began his "creativity" all by himself. Just as a married couple are usually not 'lonely' before producing a child, our Creator evidently wanted to share his existence with other living creations, beginning with his Son, whom we know as Jesus. [Colossians 1:15, 16]

So far as I know, not lonely enough to make himself a companion. Although with the relative and flexible nature of time to God, he may have just finished creating everything.

Well, the bible says he was lonely, but he's not the marrying type. He's more like the creating something for the purpose of punishing it kind of guy. ;-)

Your thinking of God in HUMAN TERMS. That's your first mistake.

desire is completely a human trait, thus god would have no desire for companionship.

Also, god is mr. and mrs.
