How can the same "God" that, according to the Old Testament, killed everybody on Earth except for four people (Noah's Flood) be considered as anything other than evil?!

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5 KJV HOLY BIBLE
The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth. And God said unto Noah, The end of all flesh is come before me; for the earth is filled with violence through them; and, behold, I will destroy them with the earth. Genesis 6:11-13 KJV HOLY BIBLE
But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God. Genesis 6:8-9 KJV HOLY BIBLE
But with thee will I establish my covenant; and thou shalt come into the ark, thou, and thy sons, and thy wife, and thy sons' wives with thee. Genesis 6:18 KJV HOLY BIBLE

According to the word of God the people had opportunity to repent of their sins.

And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 2nd Peter 2:5 KJV HOLY BIBLE

Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine: Exodus 19:4-5 KJV HOLY BIBLE

God delivers his people.

1) essentially everyone had become evil and corrupt it was not worth it to save mroe than a minimal group.
2) its only death. not that big of a deal. theres no eternal hell in Judaism or the old testament (so the death part is even less signifigant)

God sees the big picture. the infinite picture. all that is.

what I find interesting is how people can act like a God that would allow most of humanity to go to a place of eternal punishment, for trivial crimes within a single lifetime, would be something other than evil, petty and weak.

According to the Old Testament, God created mankind, Male and Female, in his own image .......... meaning.. immortal souls. "Time does not move for God (or immortal souls) as it does for man" in his flesh and blood form (according to the Old Testament and quantum physicists).

Just think, in some parallel universe Noah's Flood never happened!

Happy New Year! Cheers!

Christians take killing people who don't believe what they do to be a good thing.

With the fall of the Roman Empire, the librarian of Alexandria was pulled off her carriage and skinned alive. Literacy dropped. Even the Pope had to have the Bible read to him. In the first crusade, Christians killed tens of thousands of people they called "infidels". The Children's Crusade (1212) caused the deaths of nearly 50,000 children. Preachers sentenced to death and executed thousands during the Inquisition (1233-1834) for heresy and witchcraft. There were the Salem witch trials (1692) in America. The 17th Century Thirty Years War (Catholics v. protestants) wiped out tens of millions in Europe. In the Taiping Rebellion in China in the 1850's a Christian cult started a war that resulted in the slaughter of twenty million people. In the Holocaust six million Jews were murdered. Muslims and Christians in Bosnia reached a death toll of over 250,000.

See what I mean? So much for the "peaceful" religion they try to claim Christianity is.

Justice is forthcoming for all evil people. God simply delivered. Probably saved the children of the evil ones from going through divine judgement and hell too because they weren't corrupted yet. And you puny one are on earth today because of God. Would you prefer the devil to destroy you both physically and spiritually instead ?

I believe god to be a just god, and a loving god. However, since god is god, this entity has the power to do what he/she believes to be correct. All you have to do is look at the people and the power and greed that corrupts this world, to know that man is in a very sad state. I believe god knows what he is doing, even when man falls so far from grace.
God brought his son, as a savior for all of us sinners to pay the price of redemption. Jesus is the gift bestowed upon us only to receive in grace.

Because humans were crazy back then.. they all disobey God.. n of course God can do anything since He's the creator rite??

it's like when you play game the sims or something,, you won't be called evil because you killed all the character in the game.. because you created them..

I love these people that tell you that God is just testing his people.. that's not what the bible says.. God got fed up with their "wickedness" and wiped them all out.. The God of the bible throws tantrums like this all over the place.. Sodom and Gomorrha.. same thing.. fed up, and even Abraham pleads with him not to do it.. he tells the 'children of Israel' to commit genocide and to also wipe out the animals (like they had anything to do with it).. and we could go on..
Then, you get the New testament.. but I won't start on that..
suffice to say.. I just cannot do it. I can't believe in a God that creates me with enough intelligence to figure out that something isn't right with all of this who then sends me to hell because I can't believe that the Creator of the Universe could possibly be that psychotic.. go figure ;)

God is Holy- we are evil, without Christ we will always be that way. God destroyed the earth, yes, and saved 4 people to start again. And when the rain ended He sent a rainbow, and promised that every time He sent a rainbow, it would be a reminder that He would never flood the end again. If it was not for His mercy, He would never have sent Jesus to redeem us. We ALL deserve death. Grace was given to us. I deserved to die because of my sin. He sent mercy, to pay a price that I could never pay.

Say you had kennel of puppies and there were 10 of them. Eight of them have a fatal, infectious disease for which there is no hope. If you leave them alone, they will infect the other two healthy ones, who have a future, and those two will die also.

What would real love do, if it wanted to perpetuate the species?
