Hey. Here is your definative answer on the creatine subject.
I did alot of research on creatine before I started on it. I started working out at 16. Although my situation was a little different. I was your typical hard gainer, ectomorph body makeup. First thing you have to look at, is what kind of body type you have. Ectomorph is thin, fast calorie burner(high metabolic rate.)Endomorph, which is stockey and muscular, and Mesomorph which is bulky and has typical fat.You can be also a little endo/meso also.
If you are endomorph you would be fairly fit, it sounds like you are, and be able to pinch an inch. This means a little fat. Creatine is produced naturally in your body. It controls growth. Alot of people say that taking creatine is like taking steroids.. not true. At 16 you have already been going through puberty, and your body has started to grow. I would be highly against creatine use, had you said you were 12 or 13. Most boys should start working out no earlier than 16. It stunts your growth, its been proven. I have written alot of reports on fitness, so I have done my homework. I have also been involved in fitness since I was 16 ( I am 36 now). I have been on everything you can imagine to try and get bigger.Creatine worked the best out of all the supplements I took. I went from about 138 pounds up to 165 solid. Be carefull how much to take, because once you start taking it, your body stops the process of making it naturally, take it in moderation, but make sure you keep yourself well hydrated. Creatine needs alot of hydration. Also when you take it, cycle then give yourself a rest. Like one month on one month off. Its like body building. You have to constantly trick your body or it gets used to routine. If you are 16 you should be fine to start off with the amount the bottle says to mix. As you get older you can take more.
I hope this all makes sense. Any more questions you have, let me know.Hydration though is the key. People have ended up hospitalized from being under hydrated on creatine and other supplements.
Good luck.
P.S. I found it worked best with grape juice or cranberry.

I used to manage a gym, and I was also a personal trainer. I have tried and studied many enhancing drugs. Creatine, can be dangerous. Creatine uses the water in you body more efficiently, by bringing more of the water into your muscles. Your muscles are 75% water, that means the more water that goes into your muscle the larger the muscle gets because the muscle keeps that 75% to 25% ratio. The dangers of Creatine, can include dehydration, because the water in your body is being more focused on your muscles. Creatine can also lead to kindey stones. The best way to prevent both of these is to simply increase your water intake. Those are the two common dangers of Creatine, like any supplement it is patient pending. The effects will be different on everyone. Just make sure you take it as the directions say, and increase your water intake and you should be ok. Good luck with football.

RE:
Is creatine dangerous?
I am 16 and take creatine for football. I am 6'1 and about 215 pds. and use this to justify me being physically mature enough for creatine. Is creatine ok to take? I have read studies and most of the results are unconclusive. If someone knows a lot about creatine please answer this question.

Im 17 and have taken it for about a year now. I take it for lifting and before games, but dont take it at practice cuz u might puke it up if u have a hard practice which has resulted in water loss and leg cramps. The only "dangerous" side affect is dehydration so make sure you drink alot of water throughout the day.
what product are u taking?
