BIble in a Year Question?

Question

Besides going from Genesis straight through to Revelation (been there, done that), does anyone have a good recommendation to read through the entire BIble in a year? I'd like to mix and match between passages but still read the entire Bible in a year.

I ended up doing some searches on my own and found this website: http://www.ministryserver.com/readings/display00.htm which divides the Bible by 52 different themes and 7 lessons per theme.

I've read the bible through several times through, changing the order in which I read the books.

Genesis to Revelation
Revelation to Genesis
New Testament then Old Testament
I am currently TYPING the bible - have been since April 2004 - yeah, it's been more than a year, but the main thing is I keep going. I'm in the book of Habakkuk.

Here are some other ideas I've had for the next round or two:

Reading just the FIRST verse in each chapter of each book, then reading the SECOND verse in each chapter of each book, and so on.

Reading the first CHAPTER of each book, then the second chapter and so on.

Every time you read the bible, you discover something new, even though you've read through that section before. Here is a great prayer to pray before reading the bible; King David prayed this:

Open thou mine eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Psalm 119:18

I've just discovered that Paul's epistles are not listed in order of date in the New Testament. This is news to me, and I have yet to verify it by a bible timeline, but this is very intriguing to me! So I will be looking into that also. If you want to know more about that, just send me a message. I'll send you the order I've been sent, but only after verifying the timeline.
By the way, the KJV is the only English version which does not originate from corrupted manuscripts. I pray in Y'shua's name that you will only read the KJV.

4 chapters a day handles it. Proverbs and the Psalms make a nice daily read for 1/2 the year. Reading the Torah is a nice tie to our Judaic heritage. I tie Luke and Acts together. I suppose doing John and Rev. the same way would make sense. I tend to read 1 major NT book a month and then fill in the remaining days of the month w/ the lesser ones.
I am about to start out on a 1/2 year read. I have check marks and ? where I will pull out the commentaries and pass on what I read. For instance: What do you find in Mt.'s geneology that is unique and a key clue? Tomorrow begins w/ Gen. 1-6, Prov. 1, Mt. 1. let me know. And peace in the new year.

I get a little devotional through my church called the Daily Bread and they have a web cite. This has a devotion and pertinent scripture then it gives a couple of chapters that one could read to finish the Bible in a year.

It is great to have a goal of reading the entire Bible in a year. It is one I should do myself. My Good News Translation has a schedule to read the Bible in a entire year. Mix & Match sounds good. I would pick the best schedule for you & do your best to follow it.

For Christmas, I received a "Women's Devotional Bible" published by Zondervan. With it, you can read a Monday devotional tomorrow morning (or any corresponding day) and the Scriptures that go with it....or you can go from Gen to Rev.

Either way, it's a one year experience.

I read something once that said if you read 3 chapters a day and 5 chapters on Sundays, you'll cover the whole thing in a year.
