It's encouraging that you have not been programmed into the same anti-social behaviour which would have been quite easy to slip into. Keep up uyour bubbly spirits. Let your parents do their thing, you do yours.

Your parents are not anti-social. If people were honest, most of us count ourselves lucky to have 2 or 3 really good friends. I don't like crowds, maybe your parents jdon't either. Maybe they just want to spend their time differently than you. The fact that you can and do go to social events and feel free to ride the crowd and talk with strangers is testament that your parents let you be who you are. You should just be glad they know what they like. Would you really want them riding the crowd with you, drinking with you and your friends? So they don't like to drink, big deal. Let them be who they are.

Quite possibly you're parents may be content with the friendship they have with one another, and don't feel the need to find an outside source to fulfill this part of their lives. Is it just strangers they don't speak to? Maybe they're just shy. There are many people in this world that are introverts, and it's possible they are. You may be an extrovert. Some people just don't feel the need for others to validate them. This usually comes with age.

Maybe your parents are shy, I hope you will help them to make some friends, like the parents of your girlfriends ,classmates will come and visit you in your house,if your parents does'nt want to attend cocktail parties or big events ,they have a reason, please respect that. That 2 friends they have I bet these are friends that last.

Yes and you cannot do much about it--you just need to wait until you are 18 so you can do what you want. please just be patient and be nice to the people who raised you. They are entitled to the life that they have without you or anyone else judging them. They obviously appear to still love each other and are happy to spend their time alone without the crowds. Please be nice and smile, it will make them feel better if they think you are constantly unhappywith them---life will go so much easier for everyone. How about the kids with violent, criminal parents, using drugs and cheating--does that make them more what you are looking for?? Be happy for what you have. happy New Year

You should go home, thank them and love them for who they are. They most likely are nice, unseemingly shy people that feel badly about them selves in many ways. They have worked so very hard to make you the way you are. They've worked hard to make you feel good about yourself and love yourself, weather you believe it or know it. It doesn't mean they are bad. Realize they have been hurt by others or they don't feel good about themselves.
We were all kids once and many of us went through hell growing up. You haven't lived it so you may not understand it. Just have compassion for them.

Being an old parent I can agree with them. A few years ago me and my wife would party every weekend and go dancing and hit every party, but now we just enjoy each others company. It's OK for you but, they are in their quiet time mode and enjoy just sitting home with each other. Live and let live.

children need social events but as you get older, you just don't require them...and jumping on people's backs is a little weird and I've been to the time square event and locked in barricades for hours...no one in their right mind wants to be treated like cattle.....you're a little "out there" honey.......
