I was just curious if and where in the bible it mentions the dead, cemetaries or things of this type. I am trying to proove to my husband that going to visit places that are suppost to be haunted just for fun is not right in God's eyes. Please give me any scripture you can to back up my arguement.

Why don't you go get a Bible and read it yourself, maybe you could learn a few things. Just for your info-it is a sin to lie, STEAL, make false accusations and bear false witness. I can find the scriptures if you like. Also, have you heard the saying 'you reap what you sow'? That's from the Bible. Just curious but do you like Boyds resins or gift bags from Hall Mark?

You are accurate. Cemetaries are considered Holy Ground. There are Angels all around. So tell him that cemetaries are a place to walk with complete Respect. There are four Angels standng gaurd on all corners of every cemetary, until the Day of Judgement. Take your husband to your cemetary late at night and if you watch closely at the four corners, you will see a white shadow on each corner. They are the Angels. So this is Holy Ground. Not to be laughed at , either.

God said not to consult mediums...
"Leviticus 19:31 NIV
31 " 'Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the LORD your God.

1 Chronicles 10:13 NIV
Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the word of the LORD and even consulted a medium for guidance

...and this is somewhat similar. If it's wrong to consult someone who supposedly can arrange a meeting with a dead person, it isn't likely to be okay with God to go try to meet a dead person yourself! Maybe your husband has no intention to "consult" the dead, but he seems to have an unhealthy interest in them. As the Leviticus verse suggests, it's dangerous at best, and very likely sinful as well.

The Bible doesn't forbid going to a cemetary unless you are under some sort of cleansing time. The only thing is what is the type of fun you are talking about?

The Bible says nothing on this subject. It is disrespectful to the families of people buried there, and it is probably tresspassing. It is also childish and stupid, but there is no specific contraindication for it in the Bible. The Bible does teach us to treat others as we would like to be treated. If you had a mother or child in the cemetery, would you want a bunch of idiots runing around the graves and causing damage? The cemetery is private property..stay out.

I really don't think such a scripture verse exists. Visiting a cemetery for fun, seems odd. It is a place where our loves ones have been laid to rest and should be respected.

A very good question. It is enertaining.

We must ask such questions to the God. This is because he has forgatten to inform us about such matters. How would he know that we would visit cemeteries for fun SO go and ask him please.

Dont you think that the only (the SOLE) creature to answer this question is DOG, oh pardon me, GOD? But then, you cant ask him because he doesnt exist. Right? RIGHT..

I take it you've never opened up a bible....cause I've never read it.I If you really studied God's word you'd realize that it's a sin to be like a Pharaisee and also to idolize.

Read scripture so that you know what is really God's word? Unless you always like to take someone elses word for it instead of seeing it for yourself...

I don't know, but!!

Our town has a b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l old cemetary with angel statues that you don't see these days.

We used to ride out there to it--it was unique-ly scary and beautiful, ESPECIALLY under a full moon, like tonight.

THERE'S NOT A SCRIPTURE, THAT SAY ANYTHING LIKE.IT. WHY WOULD YOU THINK THE CEMETERY WOULD BE HAUNTED? THE PEOPLE THAT IN THE CEMETERY ARE NOT GOING TO BOTHER YOU, IT THE PEOPLE THAT IS ALIVE THAT YOU NEED TO BE CONCERN ABOUT, THEY ARE WORSE THEN HAUNTED.MY MOTHER AND FATHER ARE IN A CEMETERY AND I KNOW THEY ARE NOT GHOSTS I THINK FOR GROWN PEOPLE IT NOT A VERY GOOD WAY TO AMUSE YOURSELF. THERE'S NOT A SCRIPTURE SAYING ANYTHING ABOUT SUCH ACTIONS. I CAN TELL YOU IN GOD EYES THIS IS WRONG.
