Drinking is over-rated by people who need liquid courage to do what they won't do otherwise. Most people I know have as much fun sober as most drinkers do drunk. Happy New Year.

NO, not unless you just want to remember the first drink you ever had (no big deal there, since some day you may wish you never had a drink at all).
The answer is DEFINITELY NO if you are just wanting to do it because of peer pressure.
An alternative might be having something special that you really like that you don't have often [milkshake, banana-split, ginger ale, whatever you like]. Better hurry if you need to go to the store before midnight!
HAPPY NEW YEAR from FLORIDA!
EDIT 2007/12:33 AM..............
Just wondered if you had that "first drink" ?

My opinion, and this is ONLY an opinion, is that if you do not drink, no sense starting now or ever. I fortunately was born allergic to alcohol - get very ill on just part of a drink or part of a beer, so have found other things to waste my money on. Things like a nice boat, an RV and a comfortable home. Now if only I had been born allergic to cigars too . . . .

Only if your not being pure pressured then it is ok. Dont let anyone talk you into something you dont want to do. Otherwise if you feel that you want to drink for the first time on new years then go for it just dont drink to much lol. Have fun.

Your first drink EVER? As long as you're of age, or are maybe having some champagne under the supervision of your parents, then sure, why not?

If the legal age where you are is 18 then go for it. If it is 21, please wait three more years. The younger you start the more problems alcohol can cause in your life.

My first was on my 21st, wish I had it sooner. Did have some second hand as an infant.... It does not matter when (older than 14 anyway) as long as you don't get caugjht and your parents know.
