It's definitely wrong to put a dog on xanax. It's too toxic, and very addictive!
I have dealt with many vets throughout my career, and no reputable vet would prescribe something that would do more damage than good. If your vet does prescribe xanax for your dog, I'll suggest you look for another vet, and when you do, ask for Ace, it's the best choice altogether.

vets often prescribe xanax for unusual anxiety in dogs, particularly severe separation anxiety. However, xanax alone is not an effective solution. You need to have a trainer involved to work on the dog behaviorally to modify his stress responses.

no, its not good to use xanax for dogs. you better had taken valium as an infusion for it.
