i swear by my chiropracter. she studied at the palmer institute of chiropractic. she has helped me with everything from a sinus infection, to correcting a slipped disc.when my daughter was young, she had sinus infections every 3 or 4 months, due to a problem when i was birthing her, she was trying to be born neck first instead of head first, the chiropractor was able to realign her neck vertabrea and hasnt had a sinus infection since, and she is now 23 years old. i have sent many people to her. she has helped migrane sufferers to the point where they are able to stop their very strong meds, she has released an impacted colon, helped children stop bed wetting.
a good chiropractor will not touch you without taking xrays, and doing an electro test of each individual vertabrea in your spine to see where the problems are. sometimes, as in the slipped disc, i did have to go three times a week for a while, i started out using a cane to walk into the office, a month later, i did no longer need the cane to walk. other times it was a weekly visit.
your spine, is connecting the nerve impulses to your entire body, so if there is a mis alignment, whatever part of your body is receiving those impulses or messages is going to suffer. this is called a subluxation, and needs to be put back in line.
most adjustments seem very subtle, i have never had one hurt, i have always felt good after an adjustment, in a few hours noticing an improvemnt. sometimes it takes a couple of visits to get you where you need to be.
i have never had an aqua massage, but will be studying massage shortly, so will know about them then. sounds great.
i go every 4 months for a realignment

I have been to several chiropractors. The one I am going to now uses the Proadjuster System. It is very gentle. It is a computerized system that uses small tapping motions and beeps when the joint is back in place so the dr does not over-correct. It is painless. Also I purchased a home traction device that I love. My back has felt better than it has for years. The home traction device is a tubular pillow and a head harness with a 3 pound weight on it. To use it, I lay with my head at the end of my bed, put the tubular pillow under my neck, and then put the weight on and it gently pulls my neck backward so that I am now recovering the normal cervical curvature I have lost over the years. For some reason, this also makes my back feel better between my shoulder blades, which is a real trouble spot for me.The one I use is made by Core Products, but there are others out there as well.
The other chiropractors I have gone to manually adjusted my spine. I was always a little afraid of that, but never had any bad experiences with it. However, I like the computerized system much better. It's not scary at all.

It really depends on the doctor. I've only been to one office. But there were three different doctors. All three had different methods. I like the "hands on" treatment better than the "gun". And soft tissue work along with an adjustment does wonders when you are having muscle spasms. Although I did have some soreness from the treatment when I first went. But that didn't last long, and it didn't hurt more than the initial reason for me going. After like two to three treatments I noticed an overall improvement.
It really depends on your reason for going. If you have some major issues going on don't expect over night results. It'll take some time to get things right again. Just be patient. When you go in for your first appointment let them know you are nervous. The doctor should explain everything and put you at ease. And yes, your treatment might be a bit uncomfortable and make you a bit sore later on. Most likely it won't be so painful that you won't go again. But steer clear of the doctors that INSIST that you set up appointment 3 x's a week for the next couple weeks. There is a difference between setting up appointments for the remainder of the week and scheduling you out for the next month.

Been going to one since 1978. They have helped me a lot. There are good ones and bad ones, just like in any medical professor. There was a co-worker who had been to her doctor for back problems, he didn't help so she went to a Chiropractor. He checked her out and told her to go back to her doctor and have a specific test done. The result was undiagnosed kidney problems, one kidney was gone, the other was only functioning at a greatly diagnosed rate. So a chiropractor will discover problems, After all they have had the same medical training that a medical doctor has. The only difference is that they specialize in Chiropractic training where a medical doctor goes into a different specialty, like heart, gastrointestinal, etc.

yes i have gone to the chiropractor a couple times. it felt pretty good she put a massager on my back then cracked it. im not sure how beneficial it was after the first time my back felt alot better then after the second time the day after i went my back hurt worse than before. it really depends on what you are going to them for. ive never had an aqua massage but it sounds good. i would find a chiropractor in you area and consult them to see if they think they would be able to help you.

I go to the chiropractor a lot (about every 4 months). It really helps and the one I go to doesn't hurt at all. But, like doctors, the chiropractors can have different methods of fixing you. The one I go to is fast and painless, but I went to one once that took a while and I hurt for days afterwards. I guess you'll have to try out different doctors. The adjustments do make you feel a lot better if they do it right. good luck ;)

Went to one for disc problem. First few visits i got headaches and could barely walk after but after about a week started seing improvement. After a few months of 3 times a week visits i didnt see any real improvement so I stopped. I know people who swear by them and people who have had similar exp like me. However the treatments themselves were never painfull, so dont let that stop you.

Those aqua massages are great!! very relaxing!!! You really need to watch who you go to for chiropractic treatment. Ive been going to them on and off for about 15 years to treat sciatica that flares up every now and then. I went to one doctor and he cracked my back without relaxing the muscles and I couldnt move for three days. Then I went to another doctor who gave me deep tissue massages to relax my back spasms for a month before he cracked me. Ask people you know for ideas on who to go to. Adjustments feel really good, especiallly when they combine it with the machine that puts electrci shock into our muscles to relax them. Good luck to you!!! Hope you feel better.

depending on ur injury, they help u in different ways. but from my expierience, they are either very beneficiary or they are just not helpful. not usually in the middle.
