My friend and roomate has the most yellowest teeth in the world and she was talking about getting them whitened. Lord knows she needs them. Whenever we go out men holla at her but when they see her teeth and leave her alone. Some people even excuse the fact that she has golden-rod teeth and keep talking to her. But when she goes to whisper in their ear or something, they notice her breath smells like straight-up booboo. What can she do to get rid of these two things? I mean, she's a really pretty woman, and she can't even give a man her phone number because of these two things. She sucks her thumb, and everyone says that's why. But what can she do to get rid of these two things?

If she's dentist shy, Crest makes an amazing whitening toothpaste called Vivid White. My husband and I are both smokers and he drinks a lot of coffee, but the effects this stuff has had on our teeth is amazing. In a couple of weeks, her teeth should be several shades whiter, and the longer she uses it, the more it works. Also, ask her if she brushes her tongue when she cleans her teeth. A lot of bad breath germs can cling to your tongue, so brushing it is important for clean breath.
If that doesn't help, then Altoids or other strong mints might do the trick.

My guess is that her bad breath stems from serious gum disease. Bad gums produce the sickest imaginable breath all the time as opposed to temporary bad breath from eating strong foods. Her dentist can recommend a periodontist for a course of treatment if it does turn out to be a gum problem. The dentist can also fix the yellow teeth problem. Everyone these days looks as though they've had their teeth whitened. And about the thumbsucking, she needs to paint some disgusting-tasting stuff on her thumb in order to quit. A more drastic cure is to have the dentist make a retainer-like mouthpiece with sharp edges on the inside of the upper teeth. It will rasp her thumb raw if she persists in thumbsucking.

Commercial tooth whiteners use hydrogen peroxide and
are expensive and inconvenient. A cheap and natural tooth whitening home remedy uses few strawberries but certain precautions have to be taken.I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/ep7yg

Have her try brushing her teeth with baking soda then rinse with peroxide at least twice a day. I'm not sure how long it will take but it will help.

Start with a dental appt. to clean your teeth. If it has been a while you may also have gum disease. The gum disease will also cause bad breath.

Tell her to use a toothpaste with baking soda in it, and to chew sugarless gum every now and then.
