Let's first of all talk about a relationship with G-d. That provision was made by virtue of Christ's death on the Cross. Religion is man reaching to G-d. Various denominations evolved from the original church (Jewish, then Messianic) including Catholics, Lutherans and so forth. Just as we have many different fingers on each hand, and each serving a purpose, so too we have many denominations which seem to serve various individuals in their walk with the L-rd. The main thing is you walk with the L-rd. If you aren't a believer, then you start by praying the prayer of faith and ask Yeshua to come into your life and save you from your sins. Having done this, go to churches in your area and see how they practice their faith. Sometimes a denomination which is similar to what you may have experienced as a child may work best initially. If that becomes something strange and foreign with respect to their teaching of the scriptures and where you're at in your growth, then you may be free to look elsewhere. Do not put all your eggs, spiritually speaking, in one basket. You can access teaching of the scriptures in more then one venue and you will grow at a greater rate as a result.

it really is confusing. Everyone says they are right so who are we to believe? They only way we can find out is the bible.
What did he destroy them for in the beginning in the bible.
The flood in Genesis 6:6 He regretted even making man because every inclination of his heart was only bad all the time.
Genesis 6:13 says he destroyed them because they were so violent. God hates violence.
He doesn't like what they did in Sodom and Gamorrah, when the men tried to have sex with the male angels.
Then the 10 commandments tells us he doesn't like lies.
Stealing, or adultry. Yet most things done in religion is pagan and lies. Like the Christmas tree to the Santa Clause all came to us from pagan cultures.
So most religions are all about making money so they can't say anything is a sin. So the preachers that get paid for preaching wouldn't be right. Jesus said you was given it free so give free.
What religion believes in these things to?
read about it in this web site. http://www.watchtower.org

22. Isn’t “a Christian a Christian”? Does the denomination really matter?
Ray: Joe: John, I have always believed that “a Christian is a Christian.” If we love Jesus and believe that He died for our sins, we will be saved. Promoting a specific “brand” of Christianity only promotes division. I am a Methodist, but I love Catholics, Lutherans, Baptists, and Pentecostals all the same. We need to learn to live together. What we have in common is more important than our differences.

J. Salza: Joe, such a compromise doesn’t work in matters of salvation. Let me explain why. As a Methodist, you believe in the Ten Commandments, right? In the First Commandment, God warns us not to worship false gods. If we do, we commit the mortal sin of idolatry and condemn ourselves to hell. So far so good?

Now, if a pagan came to your front door and shared with you his religion and worship of the Great Thumb, you would have a moral duty as a Christian to tell him that he is worshiping a false god. You would have an obligation to tell him to renounce his false religion, repent of his sins, and come to Jesus Christ who is the only way of salvation. Again, so far so good? Good.

Now, here is your problem. Catholics worship what appears to be mere bread, which the Church calls the Eucharist. We worship the Eucharist because we believe that, in the sacrifice of the Mass, the bread becomes the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ and is thus worthy of worship. Our belief is based on Scripture, history and the entire Christian tradition.

If the Eucharist is not Jesus Christ, but a mere piece of ordinary bread, then Catholics are committing idolatry. If we are committing idolatry, you have the same moral obligation to us as you had to the pagan. You are obligated to tell us that we are committing idolatry and must renounce our false religion, lest we go to hell. If Catholics worship bread, then Catholicism must be renounced by all Christians. In fact, the Catholic religion lives or dies with the Eucharist, for the Eucharist is the source and summit of the Catholic faith. If the Catholic faith is false, then you must not sit idly by and let us Catholics commit idolatry and die in our sins.

If, however, the Eucharist is truly the body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus Christ, then the Catholic Church is the one and only true religion. Jesus said, “Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you” (Jn 6:53). Jesus didn’t say “If you don’t eat my flesh and drink my blood, you are nevertheless okay because a Christian is still a Christian.” If the Catholic faith is true, then you must renounce every Protestant “brand” of Christianity and become Catholic, in order to receive the “life” that Jesus has promised us. Otherwise, “you have no life in you.”

So you see Joe, we cannot go by the mantra “a Christian is a Christian.” Those who make such a statement are settling for an unacceptable compromise, and really demonstrating that they are lukewarm in their own Christianity.

Lot of good things have been mentioned in every religion. To study, understand and follow fully will take the half of our life! (or full). Dont you worry about other religions and follow the one you are already in. All religions are but different paths to the same goal of salvation, according to Swami Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the teacher to Swami Vivekananda. Hence be faithful and attain self realisation through that, and learn not to despise other religions, which is more important.

The one that goes strictly from the Bible and the Bible only !

There are so many Religions that have there own doctrine, and have strayed so far from the truth !

Look for one that will answer your questions right from the Bible.

I set out to find the right Religion about 4 years ago and I had my Bible in hand and decided that it must be one that teaches right from the Bible. I found the Seventh-Day Adventist's and there great ! When I ask them questions they answered me right out of the Bible.

Good luck and ask God to lead you....

Have a blessed New Year !

The fact that you acknowledge the existence of different gods tells me that choosing just one of them to believe in means that you don't really care about religion at all and are merely grasping for attention by asking a dumb question. Believe in what ever god makes your worthless life better for you.

It doesn't matter much. Pick one and live by the Golden Rule. Or just live by the Golden Rule and forget gods and religion. How we live is more important than what we believe.

If we simply live by the Golden Rule we've already learned the most important lesson religion has to offer. If we don't live by the Golden Rule no religion can teach us anything.

Start by figuring out which "type" of god makes more sense to you. Trying to force yourself to believe in something that doesn't fit you is not going to work. If you are not comfortable with the idea of the Creator Patriarch Who Eternally Involves HIM-Self in All Aspects of your Life, then study the cultures supported by contrasting beliefs. It's up to you to find your spiritual path. As soon as another human starts telling you what your spiritual path is, LEAVE and continue searching for your own answers. You are the only one who can find your own center. Accept help only from people who tell you to find your own way. All others are not going to help you find YOUR answer.

You should believe in whatever religion most closely matches up with your personal beliefs about the world and your system of values. There's no sense belonging to a religion that is going to make you angry or make you feel uneasy about the world. Research carefully; there is something out there for everyone!
