I know that their are a zillion humanitarian organizations (helping hungry, homeless) with no religious affiliation and their are many such organizations with Christian affiliations but do other religions do this sort of work too? I don't mean evangelism. I just want to know about humaitarian relief. I ask because I have never been exposed to any other religions first hand. I am sure some Christian missionaries, as well as some practitioners of every religion, try to shove their beliefs down other peoples throats. But for the few ministries that I have been personally involved in, we did not make reigious affiliation a condition of revceiving help. Of course we would invite people to church, etc. but we did not demand anything. Our purpose was to show was the love of Christ to the world to and love everybody the way Jesus commanded us to (some Christians fail sometimes) . This is one reason I believe Christianity is worth merit. I just wondered if other religions are like this too.

Oh my yes! Muslims do humanitarian work, Buddhism is starting to fire this up... I've seen Muslims give without demanding conversion unlike I've seen Christians do in India to the Hindus there and so on... Buddhism NEVER expects conversion or proselytizes, if it's real Buddhism... I'm sure there are lots more who do humanitarian aid as they're able.
