Jesus was sent by his father, he didn't send himself, we are all sinners, but we can get everlasting life only through knowledge and repentance, by means of Jesus' sacrifice.

Because all sin is rebellion against G-d, all sin (the scriptures say so) and fall short of the Glory of G-d. So, consequently, sin in and of itself is not the issue, because, as Paul wrote IF we sin, we have an ADVOCATE with the Father, because Satan is the accuser of the brethren, who doesn't even play fair, because he entices men to sin and then nabs them by the throat before
G-d but Jesus stands in our place and says "I paid the price for that one". Yet think about it, would I knowing sin if I know that it cost the blood of Jesus on the cross? NO. Most sin is really unintentional. Their is a picture which I hold dear, which depicts Yeshua holding an individual up and this individual has a hammer in his hand (a hammer used to pound in the nails on the cross). That is the true picture of the Gospel.

Is this a trick question? Jesus has a son?

Some things to think about:

If anybody ever does make it to a place called heaven, it won't be because they didn't sin (i.e. hurt somebody). So either it is OK to sin and then go to heaven, or it is not OK to sin, but since we all do anyway, somehow it just gets taken care of (by Jesus?) and then we can go to heaven.

Statement: IF God sent his son to die for our sins,
THEN we could all sin and still go to heaven.

Converse: IF we could all sin and still go to heaven,
THEN God sent his son to die for our sins.

Inverse: IF God did not send his son to die for our sins,
THEN we could not all sin and go to heaven.

Contrapositive: IF we could not all sin and go to heaven,
THEN God did not send his son to die for our sins.

So, following the logic, which is that if the contrapositive is true, then the statement is true, it doesn't seem that the statement is logically sound.

To sin is to experience death and remain as flesh. No one wants that. Not one sin passes through the the gate of heaven, so earth is a great place to part with the love of sin. It helps to know where sin lives and what it is.

Sure. As Christians, we try to do better and have the Holy Spirit leading us to do better, but as Humans we all fall short of the Glory of God. That is why Jesus came, he is our ticket into heaven. God loves us, but he also knows us and knew we didn't have a chance to get into heaven because of our sinful natures. Jesus came as a sacrifice. He got the punishment we deserved.

No. Jesus death freed us from the old law, but it wasn't a "ticket punch" for an express train trip to heaven. The bible, as I understand it, says we have to believe that Jesus is the son of God and follow his commandments, repenting of all of our sins. Then we see heaven.

Yep, providing you were to sincerely repent before checking out. Some Christians seem to take this to mean that they can do anything they damn well please and count on being forgiven in the end.

They just happily skip over the dark night of the soul where you realize that you've been doing wrong, apologise to God, and stop doing bad things.

But, if there is a God, don't you think He could smell a hypocrite from light-years away, through lead shielding, and around corners?

I think that You bring up a point that illustrates what is probably the most idiotic of the Christian beliefs. And there are many of them. They think that a person can sin and even kill and rape his entire life, but if he accepts Jesus before he dies, say, on his deathbed, he will gain access to Heaven. To me that is purely assinine. I guess that's why I am a Buddhist and we believe that doing good works and living purely is the best access to the afterlife.

You meant God sent his son, Jesus
YES, God is gracious, and can be forgiving.
They certainly don't encourage sinning though.

Its no human's decision who will go to heaven. God is sovereign.

Problems with religion happen when people try to take his place, when people are judgemental, uncaring, unforgiving, cruel, it turns people off from Christianity.

Proverb29 v 25
The fear of man brings a snare; but whoso trusts in the Lord shall be saved.

Jesus was, and is very capable of being gracious, kind, forgiving in every possible case.

Isaiah 1:18
... though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

Jesus was welcoming. Religious organizations and people can be off track, and should be more welcoming, as he was.
