I have this hard lump about two inches above my left shoulder on the side of my neck. It kind of moves around when I push it, but its really hard and doesn't hurt. I'm on antibiotics for tonsillitis, but I've heard that lymph nodes don't get hard when you're sick, they just swell and become tender. I'm really concerned about it...any ideas?

Any unknown lump should always be seen/investigated by a physician. However, you have heard incorrectly, lymph nodes can get hard and those that get hard need medical attention! Your doctor should be notified particularly if a lymph node feels hard, irregular, or fixed in place.
