He played a trick on me?

Question

A man I have known for a short time, really liked me a lot and cared a lot, and was/is a sweet soul.
Butnowhes done soething I cant understand:
He pretended he was goign to go out to a club to get other girls' phone numbers, to watch how I react, and in his words: "FInd ot if I care"
What the heck??? What -- I mean I just dont get it.
What would you do? He said just a few days ago how much he really cared and even saw me in his future with him---???

you know it is so hard to tell what people are thinking when they do the things they do, and not knowing what are all the things in there head that led up to the action but anyways I know its easier said than done but I think you should react by telling him that you dont think it was a nice thing to do to someone you care about I mean how does hurting someone proove that they care about you? theres other ways to find that out and you might want to let him know that if your future together involves game playing maybe your not really that fond of the idea, especially now that he has shown he likes to hurt people he so called cares about and now your not to sure if he really care about you so you dont know whats going on now and see how he reacts to that, you know not only did he mention being with other people he said girls to take it another step that was worse like twisting the knife I dont know its your call, good Luck Kim

Just because he cares doesn't mean he wants to settle down. That's what it seems like to me. Lot of people out there that don't know if they're coming or going. I still think people should be honest about their intentions. But then sometimes things happen that change someones mind. Ya know? Might of had you in his sights and then something changed his mind?

He can't have a "sweet soul" if he treated you like that. Maybe he's Bipolar. Either way, get out while you still can. He doesn't care enough to treat you with respect. Maybe he told you what he knew you wanted to hear so he could get what he wanted. Men are evil.

doesn't sound like he played much of a trick, he's just a jerk. if you stay together and he thinks you don't care or is jealous of someone in your life how is he going to react? how would he like it if you did that to him?(don't, its just a thought) does the word immature come to mind when you think of him? just because he pretended this time doesn't mean he would in the future.i would give this guy a "time out" if i were you. tell him "you just want to see if he cares enough to stay around" most guys don't like to be beaten at their own game.

tell him that you are not a game player, and are not the least bit interested in people who can not be honest and above board. Trust is what relationships are built on and he is sure questioning yours, my thought is Whats next, I would drop the guy, but that is your choice, ask your self the serious questions, as how bad do you need some one in your life that is always testing you> best of luck
