Are you sure it was only 3 sips? I am just joking. Anyway. I found this website where someone else gets pains after drinking: Here is the website and I copied and pasted part of the answer for you.

If I remember correctly there was a report of someone getting shoulder pain only after drinking sherry. This could be a similar thing with you. I doubt that it is the alcohol but something else in the drinks that trigger your attack. Alcoholic drinks are made up of many substances called cogeners any of which may be involved. eg whiskey has over 3000 cogeners any of which may (a very big may) cause some reaction.

I doubt very much I you have anything to worry about. Just keep away from the causative drinks. Remember that alcoholic drinks in moderation are very beneficial and promote a longer life than teetotalers. This is not a statement saying drink alcoholic liquors but to say to moderate drinkers that there is no harm in this habit only benefits.

(I personally do not drink, so I guess to this doctor, this means I won't live as long). I like being a teetotaler.

I used to get that when I drank too. I referred to it as vodka pain. It would start in my shoulders then work up my neck and also give me a pain in my chest.

I stopped drinking, it helped.

I'm glad you asked this question because I sometimes think I'm allergic to alcohol and the other answerers kind of confirmed this.

Karma.

It could potentially be irritation of your liver or gallbladder. The body has a referred pain pattern from the liver and gallbladder that presents as shoulder pain. If alcohol irritates your gallbladder you may feel this shoulder pain. It could happen also with other irritants like fatty foods.

i get the same effect when i drink alcohol. all it is, is the alcohol is rushing through your body so fast that it gives you that feeling of discomfort for a few seconds.
when you don't drink much you sure can feel it running through you .

You could be somewhat alergic to alcohol. Maybe you should consider not drinking

i get a neck pain, i think it has to do with blood vessels contracting. it also makes me pink and warm in the face. Cheers!
