You don't necessarily need to live a 'dirty' lifestyle, but I appreciate your ignorant judgement. Also - Ringworm can be a common ailment, not necessary for a clinician to diagnose. I'm looking for old wives tales or actual known cures. But thanks.

I had ringworm at one point, and it was while I was volunteering with a dog shelter, so I'm assuming one of the dogs had it. Anyways, I went to the doctor, and he gave me some ointment that got rid of it within a few weeks.
Here are some treatments:
Terbinafine
Griseofulvin

A folk remedy for ringworm is a 1:1 solution of cider vinegar and water. Another alternative is 2 drops Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca Oil) mixed with an ounce of water.

Treatment of Ringworm 1. If infection is suspected, it is important to see a doctor. 2. Get the right medicine. Ringworm on the scalp requires a prescription oral anti fungal medication. Ringworm on the feet and body may be treatable with over-the-counter creams containing anti fungal ingredients (such as those used to treat athlete's foot or jock itch--eg., clotrimazole). Ringworm is a fungus that is in small, spreading rings (thus fungicides work. 3. If no improvement, seek further medical advice. If following the directions on the product yields no improvement after the usual 2-4 weeks, go to a dermatologist.

Fast Ringworm Cure?

Ringworms are not from a "dirty lifestyle", the virus is in the dirt, that is why we see so many cats with ringworms. When my kids got ringworms, the doctor put Neosporum on them, and told me to leave a band aid on them for 24 hours, and within 24 hours they were gone. But he also gave them an antibiotic to take internally. The internal antibiotic fought the virus from the inside, because if he hadn't of given them the internal antibiotic, they would either came back, or the sores would of gotten infected and then they would of had a secondary infection on top of the ringworm infection. The doctor also put a black light on the red spots, and you could see the ring!

I teach preschool and ringworm passes very easily. I have contracted it a couple of times. Pets often carry it. I would suggest Lamisil to try to treat it. Usually it will get rid of it quickly. Cover with a bandage for a day or two at work or out where you could spread it. If you do not improve then you need to have your doc write you a prescription for something stronger. If it is in your hair line you will also need a prescription shampoo.
