I haven't seen this movie, but I was able to look on www.pluggedinonline.com and read about several concerns with the content (very similiar to the problems you have listed). I just wanted to let you know about this website (affiliated with Focus on the Family) so that you could check out a movie before taking your kids to decide whether you wanted to let your kids see it or not. I hope you find the website as helpful as I did.

I went to see it because it seemed so innocent. (I didn't go with a kid. But, sometimes I just tire of all the adult stuff and want to see something purely innocent) and I was shocked.
I liked that they taught that you need to be open minded, and being different isn't bad. But the sexual "jokes", however descrete, appauled me. That's how they get the kids into it. They sneak it into their minds when they're young. Kinda like subliminal messaging eh?
I think it should have had a warning though. Maybe some parents didn't think the kids were ready for the prejudice it has in it. I was really disapointed when I saw it because of that, and I'm glad I didn't take the little boy I sit for.

We have been too critical of too many things to the point that we seem to be a society of paranoid people. Civilization is a state of society where we have achieved the highest ideals of social matters. This means we can come out with anything and expect everyone to take it at face value. Trust and confidence of society is one of the highest hallmarks of civiliziation. We must use our rights in conjunction with the responsibilities that go with it. If we look at a movie and see something only our bias or paranoid mind can see and espouse it as truth, then we betray this trust. But then again, because of the tennet of freedom, we cannot be told to shut up. What I am saying is, if there is nothing to it but a childrens movie, then so be it. Superman used to be just a kind soul with superpowers. Batman was just the superpoliceman of Gotham City. Today, they have dark pasts and strange attitudes. Where have the innocence of civilization gone? Or have we transcended civiliation and gone on towards imminent chaos?

I think this movie was pretty funny with the 5 penguin guys like above i do agree that there are some sexual contents in this movie and that it does have a good moral. Overall i rate this on a scale 1-10 like 6 their singing was ok. It was kind of a bite off of Finding Nemo =P when they captured the penguin dude

i thought the movie was cute. there may be a lot of sexual content to us adults, but to children they will see it as learning to love someone. and i don't think they will get the wrong idea. love is human and to watch penguins try and get someone they love to love them back, isn't harmful. also, we can't keep our children from seeing and learning things we don't think they are old enough to know about. i'm sure some kids see and learn more in their very own household than on TV and movies. they are either going to get it from TV or from what they see and hear around them everyday. the only difference is a movie like happy feet doesn't go into detail...it's a movie about love for crying out loud, not having sex. there are plenty of kids who have probably walked in on mommy and daddy or big brother watching tv or something than there have been who have learned what they know from a children's movie.

I reckon people look to deep into cartoons rather than sitting back and enjoying it. Only thing I've heard about it is it is not really that funny and it's sad. Going to skip this one and wait for DVD. Night at the museum I think is on the list for tomorrow
