You won't like the answer. But who does??
Walk. A lot. Walk 4 miles a day. Don't run- you don't want to hurt yourself or put strain on your heart. If you can't walk in your area, join a gym for the threadmill, or buy one. Heck walk around the mall every morning before they open.
Drink lots of water. Lots. Cut out sugar as much as possible. Park your car far away from wherever you are going so you get extra walking in. Buy two dumbbells and lift them while you watch television- lay on the floor and pump them. Nothing heavy, but if you keep doing this and make it a lifestyle type change, your belly will go.
Steer away from fried foods. Tell your buddies that you are having bowel problems when you head out for beer and wings. Makes it easier than saying you are dieting. But treat yourself every so often, you shouldn't miss out on life's pleasures of food and drink.
Just don't expect it overnight, and trying to push it can only trigger a heart attack, so take it easy. Goodluck :)

Whatever you do stay away from Atkins. Totally unhealty for your liver and kidney. Look at what you eat, cut down on sugar, pop and fatty items. It a whole wheat cereal for breakfast with fresh fruit, chicken or fish for lunch with rice or potatoes ( steamed is always good for you tossed in olive oil) and a light dinner. As well have a small snack in the morning and afternoon in between meals. Plenty of exercise. If you are serious, consult your doctor eventually and go excercising. Whatever you do, never cut out 1 foodgroup completly out of your diet.

Lay off the Budweiser, the hamburgers, steaks, the pizza, etc. Get out and do something. Ride a bike or get a dirtbike motorcycle and ride an hour a day in the woods (if you live near some.) Do something.
Us 40+ year old guys just have it too easy. We have established ourselves and have the toys, but are too damn lazy to do anything because of working and already having a wife who takes care of our sexual needs.
If you want to lose weight, then start thinking like a single man who has to continue to round up women to handle your sexual requirements. Problem is, women in their 40's are not about to let us 40 year old guy's get away from them. They are too insecure at 40+ to let their man out of their sight.
I'm wasted right now. Sorry for rambling.

A low carb diet. Look into the South Beach or Atkins. The key is to lower the carbs and the weight around your belly will go away.

Once youve hit your 40's it's already too late. just do what you can from those above and make the best of your life. If a lady don't like you cause of your belly theres nothing to her.

umm, did you get into a fight with an arab man or something? anyway, most arab men are quite skinny, its just the old ones who are overweight. yes, arabs like food, it is a part of our culture, but we fast for a month in ramadan so we can go without food, and yes, (arab women) are known to be curvier, so it is genetic. they don't need fashion, they just wear a jellabia, which, in the words of some guy who was on tv "is my tux, my t-shirt, my gym outfit; everything i need". maybe they grow a big belly as they have their wives to cook for them? please don't stereotype all arab men, thats like saying everyone in america is obese, when really it's only about 1/3 of the population. (i think thats more than the population of obese arab men).

The South Beach diet is fantastic, you lose belly fat first. The first two weeks are the hardest but then after that it is good. My nephew lost 65 lbs and look fantastic!

Best way to do is a combination of both diet, exercise, then having a plastic surgeon do a tummy tuck and muscle restruction! THats the truth too...Start saving stud and you can do it!

Eat less carbs and fat....then hit the roman chair or do sit ups.
Here's how it is: Your belly is big because the muscles are hardly used. Using muscles means burning fat. By using Roman Chair or Sit-ups you are targeting those areas.
