Hi there...eating grass has a purely mechanical function and it is to facilitate regurgitation of whatever may be upsetting their digestion. Ingested blades of grass trigger regurgitation of indigestible or hard to digest matter, like the cats’ own hair swallowed during grooming, or fur and bones of prey. Expelling this matter through regurgitation, similar to birds of prey, is safer than allowing it to pass through the digestive tract where it could possibly cause a blockage.

Firstly catnip is from a package most of the time. cat grass is an oat plant that you can purchase as a plant. You can also purchase a cat grass kit that takes up to a week or so to sprout. Either way, cats will eat them. Cats under eight months will not take well to cat grass, then try catnip, the package from the pet store. It might be too strong for your cat. I start my kitty with catnip first. I make sure I have two different kinds of grasses cat nip and cat grass. They both do the same thing.

Yes. That's what it's supposed to do. Throwing up cat grass keeps them healthy and helps getting rid of hair in their stomach.

Yes, cat grass is good for cats because like you said its good for their stomaches. Maybe your cat doesn't like it or she's too young to be eating it.

grass outside is NOT good for your cat. If you buy some type at the store, it is made for cats, so cat grass that is made for cats, is alright.
