Ok, I understand the melting pot idea as a metaphor for all the different groups that have assimilated into the U.S. What about the illegals from Mexico? Would the metaphor be that the U.S. is a big, tasty stew full of all kinds of different things, but then all of a sudden someone throws a bunch of Habanero peppers in and it ruins the whole thing?

I like spicy peppers, I just don't think someone should throw them into my food, unless they're legal peppers, then just a little at a time, to keep the balance of flavor.

you could say I'm just a little bit of salt, I bring out the existing flavor

You people... geeze.

They are human beings you now? With, like, heartbeats and lives and most of them are hard working honest decent people just trying to get a break and make some money in the most decadent, gluttonous, over extended, bragging, greedy country in the free world!

What do you do so great for your country that you feel you have the right to say something like that? Are you that much of an asset? And do you really feel threatened that some guy is going to come over here and steal your job picking lettuce or Strawberries? Oh what was that... You dont pick produce do you?

Then why do you care so much about that... When there are wars going on and American Soldiers getting killed for YOUR right to speak such sh*it out loud?

Maybe illegally isin't the right way... But do you have any better ideas? Rather than running off at the mouth how about you come up with a solution?

Well, it used to be that we took in ANYONE as a legal immagrant but somewhere along the line we stopped taking in those who did not have a job waiting or had professional skills of some kind...

I live in Texas and I probably see illegals every day, they do jobs that I would not want any family to be doing for a living... they get paid little, get taken advantage of because they don't use the bank, they get robbed, beaten up, and still they tough it out and do a good job at whatever labors they are given...

I would rather have the Mexican illegals than the legal residents that live on welfare all their life and don't TRY to improve themselves.

I like the analogy. You should look into being a poet, very creative and simplied. TOO MANY PEPPERS GIVES PEOPLE A BAD TASTE IN THEIR MOUTH, BOOOOOOOOO ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS, I mean habnolegality poopers, I mean habanero peppers...whoops?

I actually like spicy food, but I still have a problem with illegals coming into our country.

peppers add spice to the dish. Mexicans add what to America?
