Tonsillitis?

I am taking amoxicillin as perscribed by my doctor. How much longer will this virus-or at least the symptoms of this virus remain in my body after, say, several days of having this.

Tonsillitis is a viral infection, antibiotics do not treat or cure viruses. Did your doc do a strep test? If you don't have strep then there is no need to continue taking an antibiotic.
