He's out buying you a gift; don't spoil the surprise!!! Does he live at home with his parents - there are other things that are necessary for him to do in this life. Maybe he's having a problem with his car. It is a holiday - maybe he's expected to do something with his friends. Don't get too pushy; guys don't like that. Happy New Year & Good Luck.

i would not necessarily be worried if he doesn't contact you for a few days. sometimes people just don't want to rush into things or seem too eager.
have you dated this person before? how has he reacted then? is this normal behaviour for him? and if you don't know, then realise that this just might be who he is and give him some time before you worry.

He hasn't called because "he" doesn't want to appear needy or desperate. Most guys who have some kind of attraction for you will usually do a follow-up call to let you know that they enjoyed themselves and to possibly set up another one.

After he left you, he called an ex girlfriend and went around to her place and is still in bed there, while she's cooking him a BIG breakfast. A proper breakfast, with sausages and bacon and stuff!
He might call tomorrow.
