An introductory dance at a wedding is meant to be with you and your new spouse. It comes at the very beginning of the wedding (also known as the first dance). It is the first dance and introduction of you and your new spouse together as a married couple. The song could be anything. It can be a really famous love song or (which I like better) your song. What I mean by your song is if you and your spouse have a song together. That would mean more to the both of you.

Are you meaning the song that plays as they introduce you as Mr and Mrs for the first time? If so, my husband and I played the Louisiana State University Fight song! In LA everyone is a MAJOR fan of the LSU Tigers and the night of the wedding was one of the major football games. We had a big screen TV Set up with the game on, so it fit perfectly! I know of hundreds of other people in our area who do this also!
I would choose a song that shows your personality as a couple! A friend of mine played "Let's get it on". Another one played "Another one bites the dust"! It all depends on you and your new husbands taste. If it's a classic very formal setting, which mine was, but the Fight Song worked anyway, you could play a classical piece.
After the introduction we immediately began our first dance-Have I told You Lately!
Good luck

A waltz at the beginning of the reception the bride and groom are introduced as Mr. & Mrs. After the bride dances with the groom her father usually cuts in and then everyone else can come on the dance floor.

If by intoductory dance you mean first dance then it's the first dance you take as a couple, sort of the joyful beginning to your marriage. My husband and I used "Keeper of the stars" by Tracy Lawrence, this is a country love song. You can use anything you choose.
Best of luck.

I had a introductory dance at my wedding just before we were seated for dinner!....it was to announce the bridal party individuals and parents of the bride and groom! We played a disco medley as we were announced to our reception...people got up and danced!

Make it your own! Have fun!

I believe it is the dance after the one where you dance with dad if he is there, or when he hands you over to your husband and they say Mr. and Mrs..... then this should be your song, the one you both want to play, for the rest of your life, when you hear it it will always bring back the memory of your day. Congrats!!

It comes after the Father/Daughter and the song should be something very special to the two of you - slow, fast, your day - your all's song.
