The most comprehensive estimate that came out this fall said about 600,000 civilians, but of course the Bush Administration rebuked these numbers as "not realistic" however they provided no evidence or opinion on the real number.

CNN is anti-Bush so their slant on things are very biased. The 600,000 civilians that supposedly have been killed in the Battle for Iraq is somewhat suspect. I don't have your answer but any innocent deaths are tragic. The American military goes out of its way to keep civilians from harm. Very few other military's do this. Le me ask you this: How many civilians died during World War 2?

I think it's a bit more than the 3,000 American citizens whom were murdered here. The difference being we were targeted, they (Iraqis) unfortunately have become collateral damage. I can't recall which comedian stated he aided a small African Country with food, he traveled 600 miles from where he got the food they needed. His question was, "How come they don't move to where the food is???"

One thing for sure is a heck of a lot more died under Saddam Hussein when he was in office. He gassed them, shot them buried them alive, threw them off buildings and a host of other means of killing them.
