my girlfriend thinks that shes pregnant but she tells me that is all the in her head and shes afraid to go to clinic.

Yes, she can. About 10 years ago, I suffered a miscarriage. I didn't want to believe "my baby" was gone. I still believed I was pregnant until it was confirmed through an ultrasound. Some women want to have a baby so desperately, they believe what they feel. I hope you and your girlfriend are able to conceive soon.
