I called my new boyfriend my ex's name last night when we were watching tv. i was not thinking of my ex at the time. Now the guy is really pissed. How pissed should he be and what are some explanations for why I called him my ex's name?

It was a mistake. It shouldn't be a big deal ( I think I would laugh), assuming it only happened once.

You don't own him an explanation if you honestly made the mistake by calling him the wrong name. He piss by choice if doesn't get over it then cut him loose, that a sign of insecurity. A guy like that is nothing but TROUBLE.

When you were with someone for a while - it just becomes habit. I can understand him being annoyed - but not pissed. Tell him you're sorry, that it's just habit and he needs to move on. Well, as long as it wasn't during any intimate moments - if that were the case then he has every right to be pissed.

How pissed would YOU be if he called you by an ex girlfriend's name?

He has a right to be pissed but he shouldn't be extremly pissed, you probably called him that because you are used to calling your dude by that name. But it also means that you still have that guy on your mind

It happens...at least you were watching TV and not in bed, right? I would say I could understand him being a little wierd about it, but being actually angry seems kind of insecure and selfish to me. I'd say he's the one with the problem. Just try not to make it a habit! =)

Yes, he has every right to be pissed off - calling your new BF your old BF name could mean you still have feelings about your old BF or you are still seeing him.

You know...it happens. If he wants to be pissed let him be pissed. He'll groan and moan about it for a while and then it'll probably blow over. Just don't do it again! :-D
