First thing: don't go on any crazy "crash" diet. They're ok if you're just trying to fit into a dress for a special occassion, but for permanent weight loss, they're no good.

The reason is: just changing what you eat is only a temporary fix. And once you go off the diet, the weight will come back, becaue the old habits that got you fat to begin with are still there, and you'll go back to your old ways.

Go to the website BurnTheFat.com. He has an ebook he sells for about $40 that tells you the "right" way to burn FAT, not just lose weight. He's an expert body-builder. He tells you like it really is.

Unfortunately, quick weight loss is not ideal. It almost always ends up being just temporary.

The ideal way to lose is to change WHAT you eat and how much physical activity you get. Exercise increases your metabolism for hours after you finish.

Eating smaller meals more frequently also helps speed up your metabolism. The author of Burn The Fat recommends 6 small "meals" eaten every 3 hours.

2 lbs a week is the rule of thumb for safe, long-lasting weight loss.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

Get started today!

cardio+weight training+healthy eating=weight loss. you need to burn more calories than you eat to lose weight. you need to exercise 30-60 minutes a day to burn fat and reap all of the benefits of exercise. it needs to be consistent. secondly, you need to reconfigure your eating style. start eating 3 moderate meals a day and 3 small snacks a day adding up to about 1500 calories to lose weight. to maintain weight, you need about 2000 calories a day. eat plenty of brightly colored fruits, vegies, berries, low fat and natural proteins such as chicken, fish, ham, nuts, peanut butter, beans, and low fat dairy and soy products and high fiber, whole grain, whole wheat pastas, cereals, crackers, etc. make sure to drink plenty of water and green teas, and try to drink no more than one or two cans of diet soda a day. invest in a pedometer to monitor how many steps you take a day and increase it weekly until you are walking between 10,000 and 20,000 steps a day. this will take work to change your lifestyle, but it's the only way to get healthy. good luck.
