We all know that Alcohol is as dangerous to personal health as Smoking or Obesity.
Because of lack of sleep I'M at risk of health problems or having an accident either at work or on the way there in my car. As I'm a care-worker it also puts others at risk!
You could be the noisy drunk coming home from the pub or club who wakes me or the guest at some saturday-night party who keeps me awake till 2am so how can you justify it?
My smoking at home (I'm prepared to take my own risks and know them well) isnt putting anyone else at risk!

I'm not trying to justify my smoking at all and I only smoke at home or at another smokers home!
I dont expect people to go to bed when I do I'm 56 not a silly kid!
Its the lives put at risk by the behaviour that worries me I cant be the only care-worker in this position, and we all know tiredness causes accidents!

Drinking affects the brain so that people become very selfish and as long as "they are having a laugh, whats the problem"???
I rarely go out drinking anymore because I am sick to death of young kids causing trouble and ruining everybodys elses night! I also smoke, but I don't cause any trouble by doing this - I will gladly go outside and have a cigarette - I won't cause trouble and get the police involved but it makes me sick that we are being targetted and yet young binge drinkers can get away with it............

Well as an ex-drinker I can say I was exceedingly selfish when drinking. I wasn't a noisy drunk but if I had disturbed someone from their slumber it wouldn't have disturbed me one iota. I think you will find that attitude from most problem drinkers. They are out to have a good time-not to think of anyone elses feelings.

if you live alone then fine your smoking doesn't hurt anyone... but do you confine your smoking to when you are at home? I am a smoker and can honestly say that I don't...

I agree with you re the drinking and yes it should be addressed as heavily as smoking appears to be at the moment but trying to argue that its worse than smoking will not work as we all know smoking is just as harmful...................

Hey, I'm with you bud!
Ban alcohol, too much trouble. It cannot, and will not be used sensibly, so ban it!
I'm a smoker, I'm a self-employed driver, so my smoke doesn't bug too many folk. I'm aware of the health risks too.

In fact really everyone should be forced to get up and go to bed when YOU do. That would solve all the world's problems.
