I believe in demons not Satan. Only Christians and maybe a few other religions believe in Satan and I am a buddhist. But I know for a fact that there are demons, beings who want to hurt or destroy humans. That guy on YA that keeps posting the picture of the middle finger has a demon in him for examply.

You have the right idea, Satan is a spirit and so are his demons. And yes, demonic spirits will enter into a body wherever ther is an open door. The more open doors there are, the more spirits will enter through. Think of your body as a house, with many doors. Say all of your doors are closed and then at eight years old someone begins molesting you. That's one door open, then you are ten years old and still being molested but nobody knows yet because you blame yourself, door # 2 opens, #3 anger, # 4 shame, #5 hate, #6 unforgivenes, get the picture. This is just a far too popular example of what people are dealing with in their lives and more than likely are not even aware that it is the principalities of darkeness. Late teens, you start hearing voices, demons again, pretty soon you're diagnosed as schitzophrenic and now you're on meds. Meds do not make demons go away. They go away when they are casted out in the name of Jesus. Many will argue this but what I'm telling you is true believe it or not.

In Islam, we believe that Satan was born from fire, he disobeyed Allah therefore was shunned from the heavens and while so Satan promised Allah the he will mislead many humans. Allah in His book tells us to be cautious of Satan for he has great influence on people and can cause a lot problems and great sins.
He doesn't really have a realm, he is everywhere and he has helpers.
Satan is a great source of trouble, he is very strong...

Satan is a spirit as well as demons. satan is not omnipresent like God, so he cant be everywhere at once. so most of the bad influence we have is from all the demons. they can control people not protected by Jesus. but mostly they are there to make people fall away or put bad images of Christianity into minds, or persuade people to make the bad choices, kind of like the demon/angel on your shoulder bit. demons are all over the place, but so are angels, so i have nothing to worry about cuz im saved!! anyway they are invisible beings but can make themselves visible when they want to. but ya Satan just basically roams the earth, he can only be in one place at one time.

READ THE HOLY BIBLE, KING JAMES VERSION AND YOU'LL KNOW THAT SATAN IS REAL AND HE IS ROARING LIKE A LION LOOKING FOR WHOMEVER HE MAY KILL AND DESTROY. WHEN THIS LIFE TIME IS OVER ITS HEAVEN OR HELL IN THE TWINKLING OF AN EYE.
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
GOD BLESS

Nobody is ever "controlled". We are only tempted. Humans are easily tempted beings. If a higher being was in "control" of us, then it would violate our free will.
Satan, I have heard, was an angel in heaven, and he was expelled. I have looked into Satanism slightly, and I have found that Satanists believe in self indulgence and pleasure, here on Earth.
That's about all I am sure about so far. I'm still reading into it.

I'm a ying/yang kinda gal. I believe in God and that He is good, so to balance that you have to have an evil. Call it what you will, demons, satan, the devil, beelzebub, etc. I believe the main goal of this evil is to separate us from God using any means necessary. Temptation, doubt, fear, and hate are his strongest weapons but he will settle for cold, disinterested, and uninvolved. He(it?) doesn't care if you believe in or worship him so long as you don't turn to and trust in God.

Jesus, in rebuking His enemies said this " You are of your father the Devil (same as Satan), and your will is to do your father's desires. He was a murderer from the beginning , and has nothing to do with the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks according to his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies" (John 8:44)
Paul said this to believers: "And you, He(God) made alive, when you were dead through trespasses and sins, in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the Prince of the Power of the Air (Satan), the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience, among these we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of the body and the mind, and so we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind." (Ephesians 2:1-3)
Paul says of some "For such men are false apostles, deceiful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ, And no wonder for even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light." (II Corinthians 11:13,14)
Peter says to Christians: "Be sober, be watchful. Your Adversary the Devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing the same experience of suffering is required of your brothers throughout the world" ( I Peter 5:8,9)
John says to Christians; "We know that we are of God, and the whole world is in the power of the Evil One (Satan) (I John 5;19)
But of Christians it says: "He has delivered us from the Dominion of Darkness (Satan's Kingdom), and transferred us to the Kingdom of His beloved Son (Colossians 1:13)
In the near future, this scene will unfold: "Now war arose in heaven, Michael and his angels fighting against the dragon (Satan), and the dragon and his angels fought, but they were defeated, and there was no longer any place for them in heaven, and the great dragon was thrown down, the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil, and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him." (Revelation 12:7-9)
It is at this time Antichrist arises. He is given a short time; then, Christ appears, and "I saw an angel come down from heaven, holding in his hand the key of the abyss, and a great chain, and he seized the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the Devil and Satan, and bound him for a thousand years." (Revelation 20:1,2)
He returns for one final appearance, leads a revolt against Christ's Kingdom, and finally, "The Devil, who deceived them was flung into a Lake of Fire and Sulphur where the Beast and the False Prophet are, and they will be tortured day and night forever and ever" (Revelation 20:10)

Satan was the half-cousin of Jesus, but there are an intense rivalry going on in primordial Heaven. And Jesus prevailed upon God to put Satan in charge of a place far away.
After the human race was created, Hell began to be populated. Satan was angry about his far-off assignment, and out of spite decided to make Hell a place of torment.
Jesus said to himself "That's fine with me." When Jesus told God what Satan was up to, God was persuaded to add one more clause: Not only would Satan be in charge of Hell but after Judgment Day he would not be allowed to leave Hell, not even for visits.
Then in one more coup, Jesus was somehow able to get from God permission to exile certain angels to Hell, who had not even lived on earth, and so had not had chance to sin; and he picked the ones that had been even a little bit sympathetic to Satan in the past.

At the very least, it is a psychological manifestation that we displace our own dark impulses into so that we don't have to take direct responsibility for our actions.
At most, a fallen angel that only has whatever power we give it.
Either way, the results are generally the same.
