Anything that prevents you from performing your normal activities is important enough that you really need to see a psychiatrist and a therapist that s/he may recommend. It doesn't mean you are crazy. It means something happened at some point that you are scared to remember and that has kind of taken over your thoughts instead of letting you go on with your life. You really need help. This to the others who have said they share the problem. Please get help. It might be really short-term or longer but you need to change this thing that is ruining your life!
Also: you will get a lot of help with stress and mood and clearer thinking if you go to the artofliving.org site and take a course as soon as possible. It is scientifically proven and works fast. You will thank me for the rest of your life.
Good luck sweetheart

"Kevin K" and "golfer" have very good answers. Since you're drug and alcohol free, that leads me to wonder to what degree you "read more into things". You may have some self doubt which does not fit the bill for paranoia even though you may not like the self doubt. A lot of that self doubt is what is part and parcel of maturing, as uncomfortable as that may be. It's what helps us compare ourselves to others as we decide which courses we want to take in our lives. You didn't tell us how old you are so, I'm at a loss to know much about your daily life, which is essential in making a diagnosis and recommending treatment. If you find yourself living a somewhat isolated life due to your self doubts, I can heartily recommend the old phrase I've heard: "Get a life". That often eases our inner turmoil and rids our minds of tremendous self doubt. If there is anyone you can talk to with any degree of confidence, do so. It's basic good mental health to find people you can talk to and bounce thoughts off of. You'll be glad you did. God Bless you.

As a retired mental health practitioner with 20+ years experience, I can assure you that everyone goes through life with occasional periods of fear of death as a part of the overall maturing process. Your "paranoia" is not unusual at all, and as a few of your respondents have said, they have or have had the same problem as yours. We all go through this process, just like any other stage in life, so, realize this and accept it within the "bigger picture" in your life, and you'll do fine. People's "fear" of dying does oftentimes interfere with their sleeping and working activities because dying is a significant change in one's life status, so, just realize, as one of your respondents said, that we all go through what you're experiencing (but many won't admit it!) , so you're definitely NOT alone. God Bless you.

Tell me and we will both know. They say it is good to be a little paranoid for survival...Something happened for you to be this way? My dad scared me about death but I am not that bad and he even died but did not do the things he said dead people do...lol Find a good book or watch a good comedy to get your mind on other things...how about helping someone...

Stretch out your hands of faith to accept Jesus into your life. You will never have to fear death any longer. God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
In the Beginning God created heavens and earth.
God gives you air to breathe and sunshine to enjoy.
God gives you water to drink and food to eat.
God gives you a wonderful body and sound mind, to live.
God loves you, and you are precious to Him.
Son of God died on the Cross to save us from condemnation.
Jesus’ love is boundless and everlasting.
We have the hope of Heaven through Jesus.
Life therefore has fantastic and glorious future!

ACCEPT JESUS CHRIST AS YOUR LORD AND SAVIOUR. YOU'LL LEARN THAT THIS IS OUR TEMPORARY LIFE AND THE ONE TO COME IS THE PERMANENT ONE. THE WORLD IS SO UNBELIEVABLY UGLY TODAY THT THIS CANT BE THE BEST THAT GOD HAS TO OFFER.
FATHER , IN JESUS NAME I ASK THAT YOU ASSIGN HOLY ANGELS TO MINISTER TO THIS PERSON AND GENTLY ASSIST THEM AS THEY SEEK YOUR HELP AND COMFORT. GIVE THEM THE STRENGTH THEY NEED TO DO THE THINGS THAT MUST BE DONE AND ALWAYS PROVIDE A HELPING HAND EVERY STEP OF THE WAY. AMEN
For Your mercy reaches unto the heavens, And Your truth unto the clouds.
Psalm 57:10
Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
Matthew 6:33
GOD BLESS

I know someone who was like this. The only thing that helped was some medication. Or perhaps therapy will help you. Another thought--something medically also may be causing it, like a blood sugar abnormality. Please see your doctor. Don't be ashamed. You aren't the only one, trust me.
