It is the greatest threat to our civilisation. But I am afraid the politicians will not see it until it is too late.

As many of our maths teachers have at some point in our life told that the modern numbers, along with the number 0, we use today, were brought to Europe by the Arabs who were given them by the Indians.
Muslims translated and preserved many great works of the Europeans. This is what helped them to advance in many fields such as Medicine, Chemistry, Maths, Astronomy, Architecture, Philosophy, Poetry and many others it is no exaggeration to say, without the contribution of the Islamic world there would have been no European Renaissance and Europe would have remained in the Dark Ages for many years.
“The early Muslims are credited with inventing distillation and could distil just about anything - from alcohol to perfume. Hygiene is very important in the Muslim world so they invented and manufactured soap - centuries before the West - and hundreds of bathhouses were built throughout Muslim cities. They understood the fundamentals of light and how we see, and gave us the camera obscura. They invented algebra and worked out the angle of the tilt of the earth. They built the first windmill, pioneered the concept of the crank rod, and designed the first ever torpedo. Muslim creativity also led to the invention of a unique instrument called the astrolabe – it could find the direction of Makkah, tell the time and, with the help of the stars, navigate you across deserts and oceans. But perhaps most important of all they pursued the cause of knowledge, translating and preserving the works of the ancients and building the world's largest libraries – their 'houses of wisdom'.”

Muslims also were the first carry out cataracts operations and ibn Al-Nafis was an Arab physician who is mostly famous for being the first to describe the pulmonary circulation of the blood (before William Harvey).

Muslims are like any other group, some are good and some are bad.
Lets be totally clear about this, Muslims are not a homogeneous group of people, so to get rid of Muslims would mean getting rid of people from all over the world who lead vastly different lives and have very different points of view.
As for the Muslim contribution to the World, try http://www.1001inventions.com/ You'll find that many of history's great thinkers were Muslims and that the fire of the European renaissance (the precursor for our current scientific and philosophical state) was actually lit by Muslim intellectuals.
I hope you'll forgive me for asking a question, do you enjoy having the Christian religion on your planet as a whole? After all, what have they ever done (other than discover places that were already inhabited and kill and subdue people all over the world)? Sounds preposterous doesn't it? Sounds just like your initial question.

The world would be safer without them. It's a fact. Where ever you find Islam trouble follows whether the trouble is caused by muslims or by people not wanting them around.
I also could say the same for other major religions. I wouldn't miss other religions too much either.

Until terrorists started to hi-jack aeroplanes and blow up civilian places in the 1980`s and 1990`s the name of Allah, I can`t say that I ever noticed any Muslims, they certainly were not part of everyday conversation as they are to-day.So the answer is no, I don`t mind any religion in this country unless it gets out of hand.

In my opinion this world would be a total mess without Islam. Before Islam this world was in the dark ages.It was only when Islam came that people came to their senses. In fact Islam is the first religion that gave women rights.Islam is not only a religion but a way of life.Dealing with ALL the aspects of our lives.Spiritually, mentally and emotionally. It's a shame that it's being tainted with false and horrid images.

Planet belongs to everyone. muslims are genuinely here for peace. the world would be better off with media. they twist and make alot of crap up. I think islam has been targeted for a long time and we could do with real news.

Its not my planet.
I neither enjoy, or dis-enjoy the religion you mention.
All religions have been the cause of all wars so they should be equally despised to the same level
