Malaki wud be nice for a dog or Ruby ( cuz she'd be precious) for a girl.
As ur a rottie owner I'm well aware of the abuse you get from small minded people about the breed. Wot they know about dogs u cud write on the back of a postage stamp. They make me so mad!!
I knew of a child that was attacked a few years ago. Two dogs were in the frame, a rottie and a mongral. It was all over the papers that the rottie was to blame but in fact when they did a check on both dogs it was the mongral that had the childs flesh in it's teeth not the rottie, but they didn't publish that in the papers.

Bright people take good names from really great literature. My current favourites are Steerforth, the cad in David Copperfield, and Flashman, another complete cad and bounder in the George Macdonald Fraser series.
Nothing wrong with naming a dog after a cad. They are both bounders, after all.
The only real rule is to name the dog with a bit of class...

All of my pets, dogs or cats were all named after family members, mostly uncles and grandparents. Giving a dog a "human" name will bring you closer to the dog because we gravitate to names we know. Oh and some of the relatives were flattered at having a cat or a dog named after them, the were not!

Roxy is a good name for a female rottie. We also had a puppy at work recently called Jean Bull.

I'm gonna have to go against the grain on this one, I have no pets, but if and when I do have any then they will all have 'human' names!
There will be no 'Fluffy the Rabbit'......she will be Julia!
So for a dog, I would suggest Steve, Mike, Geoff, Dave, Phil.......something like that......I just think its funnier that way!! (Nothing you would call a kid today tho....think more 'bloke down the pub'!)

My friend have a Rottwieler name Baby. U could name it anything you want but remember to keep realistic and not too confusing for the dog to hear it. Wish you all the best with your new doggie~

If it is a male, I would choose " Nereus" means ( The God of the seas in the Greek mythology) "Zeus" ( The God of every single thing. All that is created). If it is a female " Athena" ( The Goddess of the nature and fertility or "Hecate" ( The Goddess of the moon). I personally like this kinds of names for my pets, and I hope you like them too!!
