By pickling them, which is not a job for the inexperienced. You will need a pressure-cooker, and jars, and an experienced canner to show you how to do it. The newbie may poison himself and his guests, if not shown how to can by someone who knows.

I just wash my fresh from the garden jalapenos and put them in a zip-lock freezer bag and straight to the freezer. They're easier to chop up really small when they're frozen. And freezing is a lot less work than bottling / canning.

Pickle them w-brine- 2 qts.water 1qt cider vinager 1/2 cup salt 1/2 t dill heat brine.. cut slits in peppers to let in brine. put in sterile jars w- onion half & 1 clove garlic cut in half. add brine seal jars . just like pickled green tomatos yummy

You put them in a jar and put in pickling spices and add water. Then you put the lid on it and wala! good luck and happy new year!

Sterilize jars and pack with whole peppers or slices. Pour boiling white vinegar over them and seal with a sterilized hot lid.

the best thing to do is to keep buying them at the supermarket.
But... if you must do them yourself
