there are two names in persian, which are : shiva and shida .
I would like to know how those sound to you??

Shiva is definitely the name of a Hindu god, usually referred to as Good Lord Shiva. He is considered as the good god, since he destroys evil. Here are the duties of Shiva: 1. Creator, 2. Preserver, 3. Destroyer of evil, 4. Reprieving us from the sins, and most importantly, 5. Blessing. according to the Hindus belief.
As to the name Shida, as long as it is properly hyphenated as
Shi-da and spelled with a "d" and pronounced as "d" , I don't see any problem. But if people pronounced it as if it is written and hyphenated as "****-ah" then it can be a little funny although that won't do her any harm, I think. Or she can change it to Saidah.
Saidah in Swahili means "happy". Just a suggestion.

Shiva gives me the image of a scrimitar and Shida makes me think of a glass marble for some reason. Why?

shiva reminds me of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
"you betrayed shiva" shida makes me think it's some other god/goddess

Shiva reminds me of someone using slang saying something like "you make me shiva (shiver!)"
Shida...that is just too close to the sh*t word!

I'm assuming you mean people who speak English as a first language, to include Americans. I think those names sound very foriegn to a native English speaker; they also sound just a bit like a certain four-letter word. At any rate, if I met a Caucasian-looking person with one of those names, I'd look strangely at her, but I think it would work very well on someone of Persian descent (middle-Eastern). Overall I think those names sound quite pretty.
